I'm a catholic priest in Dublin and I can see these secular forces in the church today. They are plenty and in important positions of the Church and without a shadow of a doubt hold sway over appointments. But my heart breaks for the committed Anglicans who are hurting greatly over what has happened in their church. The mere idea that changing God's pronouns is even up for discussion is extraordinary in itself. All I can offer is a 'spiritual hug' for all of you confused and hurting over the political and secular route of the Anglican Church. God protect us all. Thank you Dr. Ashenden for your astuteness of the situation in both the Anglican and Roman Catholic Churches.
Many thanks for your prayers and concern. I keep telling myself that God is bigger and far more powerful than any of the silly ‘isms, ologies and wokery’ that Man invents!
I am an Irish Christian, re-attaching Catholic. This re-emerging secular morality is insidious and a huge End Time force... "the gloves are off". It may go back to the days of the early church. May all Christians kneel together at the foot of the cross.... G Ire
I’m a 64 y/o woman and feminism is a dupe and leading culprit of abortion. Lord forgive us for our blindness. Clean our hearts and return us to you. Keeping our eyes on you. In Jesus name!
I was raised as an evangelical Anglican, by missionary parents, and then a ministers kid in suburban parish life in Sydney, Australia. I left the Anglican Church with a broken heart decades ago when the minister preached that Jesus did not really rise from the dead, He just rises in our hearts (what? From where? Why?). I didn’t think I had any more heart break possible for my original church - until last week. I cried and prayed so much. Thank you for your words, so grateful.
@@Apriluser yes 👍well in Brisbane due to there ssm beliefs, that’s been coming for a while just like the need to split from the cofe has been coming under Welby and co.
I attended the Anglican Church years ago (the building was an old beautiful church building with beautiful plants all around). They had an older female deacon who told me that witchcraft wasn't so bad (that we just mostly misunderstood it). Her and the main pastor also said they thought it's possible no one will go to hell. After learning that from those experiences I stopped attending the Anglican Church. I miss the old building and greenery there but the church isn't found in a building alone. Faithfulness to God's revelation is required.
And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues. Revelation 18:4

I am a pentecostal/evangelical who’s journeyed into the Anglican (ACNA) church. My husband also has made the same journey and is now an Anglican priest. We are so blessed to be in this expression of the Church and love our home here. We grieve for all those impacted where sin has been pronounced as good. Rise up, O Church of God!
I was in Tewksbury Abbey only this morning; the weight of history there is great indeed. For over 900 years Christianity has survived the changing world there; faith has gone on unbroken through war and plague, through dissolution and political upheaval; is this now the point where we simply surrender our beliefs to a modern-day cult? Don't let them succeed; resist!
Good points, but would you not think it must go those route, the falling away, collapse of the system? The body of christ does not depart prior tribulation with a handshake to the rest of the world, it leaves in taters it leaves post a war like scenario, this is my view
Wasn't that a Catholic Abbey? You do realize the CofE has no apostolic order and therefore no actual foundation. That it has lasted this long is a testament of the crumbs of Catholicism you hung onto. Do what I did- come home to the Catholic Church
@David Young pick a Roman Catholic Bible : not just any bible, must be the one with the whole Truth and read it for yourself : you need to get the facts, not someone's opinion.
#ProphetKacouPhilippe :Today, in this 21st century, nobody can be saved unless by me, prophet Kacou Philippe who is speaking to you. And John 3:16 today is: For God so loved the world, that he gave his beloved prophet, Prophet Kacou Philippe, that whosoever believes in him may not perish, but have eternal Life. The Lord Jesus Christ was a man like me speaking to you today and you cannot pretend that you would have believed in Jesus Christ when He was on earth if you don’t believe in me today.
Please point out to us where CHRIST ever addresses this issue. Paul is and was not Christ, so you cannot say that is the word of God. Paul never ever met Christ and so he is writing a letters to the churches based on his understanding of something that he had no personal experience of!!!
Thank you for speaking the truth from scripture. I believe we are heading into the sifting of the church. Now as always we need to be strong in the Lord
I am a Bible believing Christian, beginning my walk with Christ over forty years ago within the Church of England. Over time God revealed to me deeper things. On a visit to Israel He gave me a Scripture from Isaiah about treasures of darkness. We are indeed living in end times and times are indeed getting darker. This latest ' thing' is part of God's sifting. He knows who are His and worship Him in Spirit and Truth. Oh! the pull of the world is very strong the devil holds the strings.......... BUT Our God reigns. Take responsibility for your own salvation, draw near to Christ.
Is this what you believe? Leviticus 20:13 New Living Translation 13 “If a man practices homosexuality, having sex with another man as with a woman, both men have committed a detestable act. They must both be put to death, for they are guilty of a capital offense.
Dr. Ashenden, thanks for making this video I'm an American catholic who grew up evangelical. It would seem Christendom rested on its laurels when modernists entered into our seminaries and that most of Christianity is being infected with feminist and progressive ideologies. You're right though that the sin of calling evil good is dangerously close to the unpardonable sin.
Roman Catholicism denies the Gospel in ways that are even worse. The supposed sacrifice of Christ by a priest every Eucharist is a terrible blaspheme a d mockery of Christ 's death and resurrection! If you leave liberal Protestantism for Catholicism, you're jumping from the frying pan into the fire! In any case, your new pope agrees with all those secular ideas!
@@PennySmart Oh, give it a rest, with your self-righteous -we've-heard-it-all-before condemnations. We are in a war with true evil and you have to attack everyone you don't agree with. I don't agree with RC in general but as an Evangelical I am much more concerned with the Woke insanity insinuating itself into all conservative religion.
terriblecleverchannelname Why wasn't such debate held and discussion led innocent children were abused in institutions nor women were victims often exposed to sexual/physical violence. Society and various religious denominations treated women as nothing more than chattel for giving birth and children to be exploited. Feminism was the response or kick against to such discrimination. Okay some aspects of it maybe somewhat toxic but so was the patriarchy of the past equally toxic. In the bible it states that God created men and women equally, so why then when women seek to be equal participants with equal rights to access the Kingdom of God, it is then perceived as a social ill? All in all with regard to gay marriage and lgbt, I feel that some trans people compromise the dignity of women as well and I refer to the trans man who was recently incarcerated in a Scottish female prison with a history of violence against women.
I’m gay, celibate (NOT easy, and not always perfect) but denying ones own passions is immensely connected to finding ones true purpose through Christ. No one said it would be easy, but thats why we have grace. Having the human experience that I have, and many like me, means that we can relate to people that some other people on the church ether cannot or wont, and thats a beautiful thing! But the bible is clear. To serve Christ is to die to oneself and receive your new identity. We are more than our carnal nature, we are worth more than our worldly identity. This isn’t going to be for everyone, thats OK too, everyone has to arrive at their own path to divinity, so I’m not evangelizing to anyone, but for those who in those quiet moments hear God’s still, small voice… the path is narrow, and it is hard - but the rewards far outweigh the ‘cost’. Stand firm CoE!!!! ❤
"But the bible is clear. To serve Christ is to die to oneself and receive your new identity. We are more than our carnal nature, we are worth more than our worldly identity." Well put, thankyou.
Peter. Thank you sharing. I think we have forgotten what sin means and that it is not indelible. The COE think that is is indelible and therefore means those guilty of sin are lost forever and so they want to save them from damnation. This means they have usurped God instead of leaving salvation and judgement to God. I am afraid that sinning is the human condition otherwise as you say it would not b so hard to control and we are all sinners and should always be welcome in the church. My view is my sin is my problem I need to sort it out and seek forgiveness for it. It is beyond my comprehension that anyone would bless or celebrate my sinful acts with a blessing in front of the church. My rows with my parents and my anger towards them. Let’s bless that. My lies amongst many other things I am ashamed off. At 57 and only turning to god two years ago believe me I have many. Yet it was always my understanding that my salvation was what the church wanted to bless and praise.
I'm a man and always wanted to have sex with as many women that I could! That is mortal sin which will put me straight to hell! I have been delivered of that through the Blessed Mother and Our Lord Jesus. Any struggles you have Can be overcome with the Rosary! I pray for you and all that struggle in any vice! God can and will give you the strength, will and grace to overcome 🙏
@Alwil some sin is venal. Not all sends you to hell, but all sin separates you from God. Some send you to purgatory and some send you to hell! Neither is good or pleasing to Our Father.
Gavin I feel for you - you gave your life over to your church - by standing up to truth, you have become a target. Thanks for standing up to this moral attack on our values 😊
Thank you Gavin for showing us the way. It seems to me that all who believe God’s word that sodomy is a great evil, will soon follow your footsteps and have to leave the church as well. Stay strong in faith that we may withstand the temptations of the devil. 😇
Thank you Gavin. You should be the Archbishop of the church. The present archbishop wouldn't be able to understand the argument that you are putting forward so clearly.
Well done and spot on! I was doing exactly the ssame 20,000iu Vit D 1200mg Vit C Liposomal ( x7 more effective) and Zinc 50 mg plus other things like a multi mushroom mix.
We are living incredible times! God is doing the people from the Church of England a great favor. It is forcing them out of their complacency. He is sifting the institutionalized church in order to separate the wheat from the chaff. He is raising an army of followers that do not compromise with the world and are willing to forsake their lives to follow Him. The path is narrow but it leads to eternal life. There is only one bride of Christ, and she is pure and eager to follow her groom. I myself have grown Evangelical, and came out of the institutionalized church because it was not fulfilling Christ's commands. Since than I have experienced God's power like never before. I have repented of being look warm, and living with one foot in the world, I have seen lives being transformed people being healed, delivered and filled with the Holy Spirit. Come out, the harvest is plentiful and whoever is ready to forsake their lives to follow Him will see amazing things in these end times and will receive the crown of glory.
I applaud you. Roman Catholicism faces the same danger, especially from bishops in Germany. The tendency to let culture influence doctrine is disastrous to the faith.
Thankyou for taking the time to express this. I live in a rural community and have no choice but to suffer the now clear and growing absurdity of the church of England. Having moved here from Bradford, a place with a thriving evangelical spirit, I am frankly amazed at some of the temporal, faddish and secular rubbish the vicar here works into sermons. What a joke to leave church feeling dirty.
What a horrible thing. "to leave church feeling dirty" I have stopped going along with my husband. Christianity is not about sorting out societies ills for "social justice". Jesus was very clear on politics being of the world of humankind and of no importance in the Kingdom of God.
Start an Evening Prayer service in your home. You may offer those fleeing apostasy a new start. And if your group grows, you can call a priest that is looking for an evangelical Anglican group to shepherd. We did that 3 years ago and now we have about 80 in our new parish and growing! Prayers and God’s blessings.
If you want to worship our God, then understand we refer to him as a He. If you change your religion to suit people, then it's no longer a religion of faith but a business with political ‘Woke’ marketing tactics. ‘Our Father’ in the Lord’s Prayer…gives comfort to me and millions worldwide.
Excellent but heartbreaking commentary. I am a Roman Catholic whose faith has grown given the Church's relative resistance to the demands of temporal secular society that seem hell bent upon undermining the basic truths of Christian Faith. That is not to say that there aren't revisionist forces at work in the Catholic Church. In a world where erstwhile "Christians" deny basic foundational Christian principles and open the door to revisionism, relativism, woke ideology and ultimately, destruction.... I am glad I am a Catholic. I recall that the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith announced that Pope Benedict XVI had set up a procedure to allow "groups of Anglican clergy and faithful in different parts of the world" to return en masse to the Catholic Church. Perhaps now is the time to unite and work together for the faith.
Thank you Dr Ashenden, you are one of the few best honest righteous man. I know the C of E is of no good. When my husband a pastor stepped out on me with a woman who supposed to be friend of the family, I took my complaint to the church. We were married for 10years. There was no help for me. Only offered me 6 weeks counselling and drove me out of the church. Our home was repossessed. The woman who my husband cheated with was attending the church, so they kicked me out. No further help was given to me. I became homeless for 14yrs. Since that day, I lost hope in mankind. What kept me going was my faith, as I am a born again, evangelical Christian. I moved to another church that is an evangelical church, and went on training for discipleship. Then we got news that the head pastor of that church is gay, and had abused a young boy and sent to prison. I cried. Again, I left the church. Since then my life changed as I only trust God. I became a prayer warrior and now pray for people for all sorts of afflictions, and the Lord is blessing me now. Thank you sir. Maranatha ❤🙏
God bless you, sir. Leaving your church and making this video cannot have been easy for you. But take comfort that we are never as close to God as we are when we suffer - and moreso if we suffer for Him. You have never been more Christlike than you are at this moment. Pax Christi from a Catholic sister in Christ.
Thank you Dr. Ashenden for your cogent and articulate review of the morass the the COE, and many Churches within the Anglican Communion now find themselves. Indeed our only hope for survival is to repent, as individuals and as congregations; dioceses and provinces, confess our sins and place ourselves at the mercy of our Thrice Holy and Righteous God. All the while submitting ourselves to the instruction and admonition of Holy Writ...God bless you richly Sir! Coram Deo, Rev. Dr. Mel McMinn ThD, DMin. +
I believe God is drawing his faithful ones out from all of these compromised denominations and we are finding unmistakable family members from unexpected places. Blessings to you and all like you who know their shepherd's voice and will not follow another.
The verse, "worship HIM in truth", have never been more obvious in our day and time. It truly is a time to, "come out of her" and to humble ourselves and give up our division of church. Let us move on ,on our knees in prayer together.
Thank you Gavin. I admire your intellect, knowledge and enthusiasm to pass on your thoughts and information. Thank God for you, committed, caring and truthful . Joyce P

Thank you so much Dr Ashenden, your perception and summary is not only timely but pertinent at this time. I'm on the other side of the world in NZ and have been a Christian for 50years. It breaks my heart to see how the Church has been taken over by antagonistic forces! But thank you and other shinning lights - take the torch and fan the flame! Isaiah 42:3 (KJV) A bruised reed shall he not break, and the smoking flax shall he not quench: he shall bring forth judgment unto truth.
I have now listened to the 17 mins of a great understanding of what has happened to our faith. It made me realise the importance that the first book of the OT states, that God gave man FREE choice, between evil and righteousness, and then put man in charge!!!! We are now witnessing man exercising this freedom that God gave us. He also stated that we would be forgiven, a thousand times a thousand!!!! God has set us up to fail the 10 commandments, that the pulpits seldom teach!!!!
Thank you for your powerful, yet calm argument, regarding the decision made by the majority of Bishops. I ,along with my husband, are heartbroken. The impact on the the Church of England will immense.
@Oneness Seeker not a fake but an anti church!. Which means the traditional orthodox church will be side by side the anti church. It's up to us to choose which one we're going to follow. The modernist world anti church or the true orthodox teachings from Christ passed on to St. Peter. It's going on now!!! I choose Jesus Christ and the Tradition handed down!!!!!!!
If you were true Orthodox you would tell him the truth that COE was never a real church and that there is no salvation in the protestant faith , regardless of the current events in COE
Amen. Thank you for addressing this. We believe the Bible contains all things necessary for salvation. We live in the Diocese of Fort Worth in Texas and are endeavoring to fight, but we see the creeping in of anti-Biblical thinking, even in our conservative church, those very signs about which you spoke. My husband and I (both age 80) have left a parish church within 1/2 mile of our home to travel 20 miles to worship in a parish where traditional values and worship are still there. We also watch as the United Methodist church divides and their local congregation here refuses to vote to stay liberal or the turn back to the Bible. My husband and I support the Anglican Diocese of Northern Malawi…where in Africa missionaries took the Gospel, the Africans believed, and now the West wants to take the faith away…to pull the rug out from under them. Again, thank you, as always, for addressing this as we endeavor the stand firm in our faith.
Have you ever attended St. Peter’s in ft worth? It’s a Orthodox Church that uses a very high church form of the Anglican liturgy instead of the eastern liturgy
Wow- what a powerful defense of traditional Christian faith and belief, and condemnation of the movement to secularize the Church. I'm an American Episcopalian, but deeply troubled by the direction the Church is heading. I like the "tradition" and the emphasis on rationality, but it is rationalizing itself away from the Biblical revelation and from accountability to God and His statutes. Thanks so much, Dr. Ashendon, for your very thoughtful analysis of what is happening and where it is going.
Dr. Ashenden, I understand completely the necessity of addressing the dangers present in our world and out churches directly and strongly. But - I miss your devotional talks deeply. I'm glad the old ones are still there. I know though there's only so much of you to go around and you surely are following the Lord's lead in speaking on the great evil in our times.
If you want to worship our God, then understand we refer to him as a He. If you change your religion to suit people, then it's no longer a religion of faith but a business with political marketing tactics.
Bless you Gavin. May I say that Dr. Martyn Lloyd Jones was right. His writings stand strong today and worth the reading today. Small compromises a a crack that widens.
Never thought I'd see the day a devout, skeptical, and rational, atheist like myself would find more joy and relevance listening to a Catholic Apologist than mainstream secular garbage. It feels strange to be in the same camp as my historical 'enemy', but when faced by a common, greater, threat, one fights with the heart, not the head.
God bless you sir for standing for God's truth. I was raised in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, but left it when they too, began blessing those things the Bible condemns. The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod still clings to Bible truth but there are no LCMS churches near me. I grieve for the Church (the universal Christian church). How this must grieve our heavenly Father! Thank you for speaking out and may God open people's hearts to hear your words.
"For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths." - 2 Timothy 4: 3-4 Let us be encouraged by Paul's words: "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day-and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing." - 2 Timothy 4: 7-8
Dear Dr. Ashenden, it has done my heart good to listen to your description of the forces that have brought the Established Church in this country to where it is today. It is being led by 'blind guides'. I am just an old grand-mother but, as a Christian, I have been able to see the truth of what you are saying in a very simple way... 'we fight not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms'. How else can we describe the absurdity of what is happening within society and, tragically, within the Church God's will for us, and the words of our Saviour, are not complicated to understand. What we are witnessing in the CofE is an example of what is covertly widespread throughout much of what would be regarded as 'Christian'. I hope your proclamation and witness, and those who stand alongside you, will lead to a call to repentance and change amongst ALL of us who call ourselves followers of Christ. I pray, in God's plan and purpose, we will have the joy of seeing that happen in our generation.
My own Episcopal parish priest (USA) is struggling with this very matter. He left a teaching position he held for forty years, when the college insisted staff use students personal pronouns. He could not in good conscience do it. Although he is retired from the priesthood, he is a visiting priest where the parishes are shorthanded or without a priest altogether. He is a wonderful, devout and dedicated servant of the Lord. We need to keep priests like him in our prayers. Thank you, Dr. Ashenden, you too are a devout and dedicated servant of the Lord, and deserving of our utmost respect.
God bless you sir. I saw this coming 20 years ago and walked out of the Episcopal organization for good. It can only be called a cult when you don't uphold Christ Jesus as the only way to salvation, when you treat the Bible as some do a newspaper and cut out only the parts you like & toss the rest. I've not had a church home since.
I was born in Ireland and brought up Catholic, but was never advised to read a Bible or indeed given a Bible, When I was 29 and living in the Far East, I purchased a Bible and having read Johns Gospel and the book of Acts in particular, I was horrified that I never knew The Full Truth of the Word of God, for four years I read the Bible from Genesis to Revelation with the guidance of a Youngs Concordance, The reasoning behind this was that I had never been told the FULL TRUTH , I cried out to God to lead me into the FULL TRUTH Within days my Pastors wife laid her hands on my head and prayed for me, that evening in the privacy of my home , as I waited upon God not only was I baptised into Christ , but filled to overflowing and speaking in other tongues , that was over 50 years ago, today I live in the North of England now and attend an African Assemblies of God Church which preaches The Full Word of God in the Power and Anointing of Gods Holy Spirit ✝️ I started to attend a Methodist Church in Singapore, the Baptism in the Holy Spirit was not preached , today I live in the North of England and attend an African Assemblies of God Church which teaches and preaches THE FULL WORD OF GOD under the Power and Anointing of the Holy Spirit ✝️
I grew up Episcopalian. It hurts me to see the Anglican following a worldly path. I think this slippery slope away from the Scripture started when they ordained women as priests. I am not surprised that the Anglican church will join the universal harlot church of the book of Revelation. Jesus Christ will remove His lampstand from this church that clearly moving towards apostasy.
The Holy Spirit is upon Dr. Ashenden. He sees the trojan horses and so much more. Thank You! May God Bless you. ❤️"Ave Maria Cheia de Graça O Senhor está convosco"❤️ Lucas 1:28.
Yes more than his intellect and astuteness it is the revelation of the Holy Spirit..and having received the revelation he has the courage to speak out. Ave Maria
"Do not I hate them, O LORD, that hate thee? and am not I grieved with those that rise up against thee? I hate them with perfect hatred: I count them mine enemies. Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting." Psalm 139 vv 21-24
Thank you for your careful, thoughtful description of where the world is headed and where the Churches sadly are following! No moral order! May God bless you abundantly and strengthen you as you step out to “follow” Him!
This is not a failure of common sense or failure of spiritual discernment. This is a malicious and deliberate act of apostasy and rebellion against the word of God.
At last we hear someone brave enough to speak the truth. Thank you for your insight. For making this video and sharing. We are bombarded with so much confusion about gender and equality. Your words ring out the truth and we need to hear this as a counter culture in our society. I am a Catholic and what you say affects our church as well. God Bless you x
I left Anglicanism (Episcopal Church here in the US) for the Holy Orthodox Church a number of years ago, and have have not looked back. I am blessed to no longer have to fight these fights.
Thanks for posting this and hopefully our Bishops and those in authority in the Catholic Church will be listening to what you have said here. Scary times for the Catholic Church as well.
@@DrGAshenden The Catholic church is under extreme attack right now as well. Pope Francis does nothing as homosexuals rise to the top in Germany and threaten schism over homosexuality. We are in for a bumpy ride.
Wokeism is now influencing the Church of England into having a neutral gender God. If this goes ahead we will no longer be able to refer to God as "He" 'Our Father' is to be taken out of the Lord's Prayer…a prayer that comforts millions. We should stop bending God to OUR will instead of us surrendering to HIM. We know God is our Father. If you change your God, you change the religion. God is a He, it's stated in the Bible. Jesus said, I and the Father are One! (John 10:30) We have always referred to God as He. If you want your God to be a female then worship a female God, but it's not our God. If you want to worship our God, then understand we refer to him as a He. If you change your religion to suit people, then it's no longer a belief and a religion of faith but a business with political marketing tactics.
It is impossible to serve two masters. The Church of England seems to think it can. The two “masters” are the teachings of Jesus and the teachings of contemporary culture. Occasionally the differences are in nuance but this isn’t the case here. Thank you Gavin. There are lots of good people in the Church of England. I hope they follow you out of that church and into the Catholic Church. God help them.
Agreed in theory but I wonder how welcome orthodox Christians will be in most Catholic parishes. I'm a revert who came back at the fag end of lockdown via the Ordinariate. When the local parish church opened I was shocked at how badly things had slipped. Your average congregant is barely catechised and buys into secular ideology. There is little dignity inmost masses as many don't believe in the real presence. There are still many traditionalist priests but they generally prefer a quiet life whereas I get the impression that most bishops would not welcome trad Anglicans coming across now. I'd love to be proved wrong.
I think vicars from the church of England will be welcomed by the catholic church same way as they welcomed when vicars left, when they started women vicars in the church of England.
@Robert BARRETT The state is all but irrelevant to following and living Christ here on this earth. He leaves us here so that others see God's glory through our sold-old simple lives. "Deny yourself, take up your cross (don't let sin against you, produce sin in you), follow me." Where's the state in that?
Thank you Gavin for your calm voice of reason. Hearing you standing for the truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ steadies my boat in the turmoil around us. Welby has broken the Church of England into a million pieces with his ungodly and heretical behaviour. I watched Synod this year on line and I was heartbroken.
“I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful. You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me. “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned." - John 15 The Church that was established in Antioch is the trunk. All others are branches. Return to orthodoxy brothers in Christ.
Fantastically insightful commentary. If only Gavin had a position of influence within the Church here in the UK. Leadership in the RC church is sadly impotent in these times 😞🙏🏻
Anyone seeking a new Church, Pray and ask God to lead you through to the right place. I have learnt from each Church many things. You know when you are in the right place because your faith grows. People want to meet to Praise God and Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit 🙏. People want to fellowship and people want people to join and learn from the true Word of God and learn how to love the sinner but not the sin.
Blessing on you for standing up for the faith once delivered. I know this has not been easy for you and your family. Progressives will not stop until the entire edifice is destroyed. God grant you strength!
I like you. I love you, dear brother. This is a valuable document of how we came to this place and what must follow if we refuse to change. We may not be able to stop inevitability, but we can humble ourselves, pray and turn from our wicked ways. Merciful God we cry out, "heal our land...heal our lands! Your people are languishing in this dry land. Wild beasts threaten us on all sides, enemies steal and enslave our children, all the while our sins and our lawless deeds are ever before you."
This is a superb response to the terrible actions of the CofE leadership. Revelation - the leters to the churches - God is very clear that he will no prop up apostate churches.
Thank you Dr Ashenden. We are not to judge, but we are called to discern between good and bad, right and wrong, truth and lies. As a life long Anglican (77 years old) I am very saddened, but we have a great and glorious FATHER GOD to pray to. We must PRAY, PRAY, PRAY !
The do not judge doctrine is also erroneous. If you as a spiritual disciple of Christ have had the beam removed from your eye then you can see clearly every situation that needs to be judged discerningly. In other words the truly born again believer who walks in the light is spiritually enabled to judge all things.
Condem sin where you see it. The reason we are on this situation is due to that mentality of "you be you". If we all spoke against the sin publically. World would be a better place.
says who? a lot of times so many christians cower when this phrase is thrown at them. we are to 'judge' all things (behaviour, character, spirits etc) that's one part and the other 'judge' used in the context of the bible is one unto 'condemnation'. the latter is what God hasn't given man the power to do. i believe that is so because a soul is precious to God no matter its state. i also believe it is so because as far as a man liveth, there's grace, mercy and hope that he can turn back to God. that is why we as christians need to rise up and outreach more without being apologetic. the words we speak are not our own. therefore if you tell someone he/she may end up in hell if they don't repent and be born again because Jesus loves them and wants them to be with him isn't judgement (condemnation). a judgement unto condemnation will be to write off or give up hope on somebody that their sins are too grave to be forgiven.
@@tommix5444 Hello Tom, I said "We must not judge" because to my mind judgement implies condemnation in most contexts, (the work of God alone). However, we do need to rebuke wrong doing. In Jude 9 even the archangel Michael said "The Lord rebuke you", leaving condemnation to God.
@@royquick5042 I’m not going to give you the whole story……i just can’t deal with all that now, let’s just say I can’t argue with two thousand years of church history. Have a good day man.

Thank you Brother At 62 and having lived an extraordinary and eventful life so far, with all it's false summits and black valleys, I have arrived back to my home, the Catholic Church. This post just popped up, however has steadied me in my steadfastness ( weird turn of phrase don't you think!) and served as a great addition to my newly acquired habit, morning hourly biblical and theological readings.( Trying and bumbling at times, through what I think your words were Christian Discernment, very grandiose of me! ) Anyway Wonderful.. loved your thoughts analysis, heartfelt and spiritual post. The institution of marriage has been under attack in the Anglican Church ever since Henry VIII. And he was HETEROSEXUAL! The Lambeth Convention in the 30's allowed for Contraception for married people and then opened the door to everyone else. Then came the approval of ABORTION. I was raised in the Episcopal Church in America and when Obama came after the Catholic Church to FORCE the support and pay for abortion I was roused to action and to support my Catholic brethren. I went to a demonstration and thought I would see ALL Christians protesting the HHS Mandate. Then I found out from my pastor that PLANNED PARENTHOOD was an institution the Episcopal Church supported and encouraged others to do the same. This began my journey "home" to the Catholic Church. YES there are problems w our clergy too but the Catholic Church DOES NOT TEACH that Abortion, Contraception, Homosexuality, is ok. It got to the point that I thought "just wait long enough and the Episcopal Church will create a "rite" for it."
Dear Sir, i doff my hat at this clear articulation of the problems now and those to come, with the Gospel as scaffolded by the Church of England. Am in Nigeria and we generally are yet to be so corrupted. Nonetheless, if we are blinded by lack of diligence we will go the same way, especially with the homology of ideas you alluded to, which i piquantly term a 'hive mind' among the youth of today. Yes, i doff my heart to your depth, experience and commitment to our Lord Jesus Christ. You were sent for such a time as this.
This is really eye opening and somewhat unbelievable. Please pray for grace, restoration and revival because Divine intervention will be terrible to witness, and endure..
I’ve not heard the idea (till now) that ‘feminism and homosexuality are Siamese twins’ but I can see the wisdom in such an assertion. Keep it coming Gavin.
As a career musician and Christian I was called to "contemporize" the music in an Anglican church. The rector who was also a theological professor took exception to my choice of music which was directly excerpted scriptural passages. He suggested I change the wording using the logic that it is a living logos that changes with time. He became so frustrated at my intransigence that at one point he asked me - "You don't actually believe all this stuff do you?". When I asked what he meant he said like the resurrection and the virgin birth, he went on to enlighten me and told me it was all myth. Every Sunday he preached and every Sunday he was paid to preach a Gospel he did not believe. I eventually left upon discovering that singing the words of the Gospel was dividing the church and brought judgement on my young family. It is not secularism that is dividing the church my friend, it is the devil and he has been right at home for decades now.
Thanks for your response dear brother in Christ from a Priest in the Anglican Church of North America.
Thank you.
Fr Bill, you are one of a few Irish priests speaking the truth in charity today. A light in the dark, that gives us laity much consolation.

Hasn’t a new evangelical Anglican diocese formed in Australia?

Yes, but equally true as far as Roman Catholicism is concerned
Leviticus 20:13

The faithful of the C of E do not need to leave as the church has decided to leave them. Most impressed with your explanations Gavin.
We are in a war with true evil and you have to attack everyone you don't agree with. terriblecleverchannelname Why wasn't such debate held and discussion led innocent children were abused in institutions nor women were victims often exposed to sexual/physical violence.
The church of England's treatment of women has always been fairer than most other mainstream Christian churches
We are more than our carnal nature, we are worth more than our worldly identity."
Well put, thankyou.
Woe unto them , judgement starts with the church we all need to pray.
Isn't Bradford a Muslim city?
Kings and kingdows will pass away, yet the name of Jesus will remain, forever.
It truly is a time to, "come out of her" and to humble ourselves and give up our division of church. Let us move on ,on our knees in prayer together.
Excellent analysis. Like to hear more of your take in these developments with Charismatics and Pentecostals
Thank you Gavin. I admire your intellect, knowledge and enthusiasm to pass on your thoughts and information. Thank God for you, committed, caring and truthful . Joyce P

Woe to he who proclaims Good as Evil and Evil as Good Isaiah 6
Brilliant. The Church here in the US is experiencing the same. God help us.
Yeah. Good luck with that.
Thank you for your powerful, yet calm argument, regarding the decision made by the majority of Bishops. I ,along with my husband, are heartbroken. The impact on the the Church of England will immense.
We should have had a man of Gavin's calibre and faith as Archbishop of Canterbury.
We should indeed but there isn’t one.
Definitely needed someone with a backbone!
I completely agree.
@@jm9673 But aren't the Anglican churches in the Global South now refusing to recognize Welby as Archbishop? That's what I read this week..
@@aclark903 Yes. A Nigerian archbishop has said this will happen. They are shattered in Africa.
I'm an orthodox catholic, I pray for you Dr. Keep it up and save as many souls as you can before it's all gone!!!!!!!
Well said. Our Anglican brothers and sisters need our prayers and empathy. Because who knows our Catholic Church is on the same trajectory
@@onenessseeker5683 disgraceful
@Oneness Seeker not a fake but an anti church!. Which means the traditional orthodox church will be side by side the anti church. It's up to us to choose which one we're going to follow. The modernist world anti church or the true orthodox teachings from Christ passed on to St. Peter. It's going on now!!! I choose Jesus Christ and the Tradition handed down!!!!!!!
If you were true Orthodox you would tell him the truth that COE was never a real church and that there is no salvation in the protestant faith , regardless of the current events in COE
@Haute Couture only God himself knows a man's heart. I'll leave protestants salvation to him! Ok?
The Roman Catholic church does not follow the KJV Bible. It's full of pedophiles and homosexuals.
I'm limbering up to put one up this week. Thank you for the encouragement...I would be glad of your prayers... they are not easy to do...
@@DrGAshenden praying for your upcoming devotional talk(s)and all that you are gifted to speak in Jesus’ name.
@@DrGAshenden I am praying that you neither work nor worry too much but just let it fly. You can do a good devotional in your sleep. Come on!

Bless you Gavin.
May I say that Dr. Martyn Lloyd Jones was right. His writings stand strong today and worth the reading today.
Small compromises a a crack that widens.
I just had a cup of tea and a very nice biscuit and listened to you. Well. I feel much better. Thank you.
This is SO British (English). As a Yank, I love it.
Tea solves alot of things.
I am amazed at how often I feel you speak for me.
So thankful for your videos.
You're a genius then
God bless you sir for standing for God's truth.
You remind me of G K Chesterton. Calm, reasonable (to most). Such a refreshing change from the hysteria of our world.
"For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths."
- 2 Timothy 4: 3-4
Let us be encouraged by Paul's words: "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day-and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing."
- 2 Timothy 4: 7-8
Thank youDr. Ashendon for such wise and godly words.
How else can we describe the absurdity of what is happening within society and, tragically, within the Church
God's will for us, and the words of our Saviour, are not complicated to understand.
Brilliant! Brilliant metaphor for the new morality. G Ire
I was born in Ireland and brought up Catholic, but was never advised to read a Bible or indeed given a Bible,
When I was 29 and living in the Far East, I purchased a Bible and having read Johns Gospel and the book of Acts in particular, I was horrified that I never knew The Full Truth of the Word of God, for four years I read the Bible from Genesis to Revelation with the guidance of a Youngs Concordance,
The reasoning behind this was that I had never been told the FULL TRUTH , I cried out to God to lead me into the FULL TRUTH
Within days my Pastors wife laid her hands on my head and prayed for me, that evening in the privacy of my home , as I waited upon God not only was I baptised into Christ , but filled to overflowing and speaking in other tongues , that was over 50 years ago, today I live in the North of England now and attend an African Assemblies of God Church which preaches The Full Word of God in the Power and Anointing of Gods Holy Spirit ✝️
I started to attend a Methodist Church in Singapore, the Baptism in the Holy Spirit was not preached , today I live in the North of England and attend an African Assemblies of God Church which teaches and preaches THE FULL WORD OF GOD under the Power and Anointing of the Holy Spirit ✝️
Thank you for your courage and so-needed voice of sanity. May God bless; guide and protect you on your way to Truth. Fr. Mareko
Ave Maria
Oh Brother! ....
Excellent. God's word is sufficient.
All the rest is dung.
Thank you for your careful, thoughtful description of where the world is headed and where the Churches sadly are following! No moral order! May God bless you abundantly and strengthen you as you step out to “follow” Him!
Amen!
We may leave the church of England but we may never leave Christ. Friendship with the world is enmity with Jesus, who is Lord.
I left Anglicanism (Episcopal Church here in the US) for the Holy Orthodox Church a number of years ago, and have have not looked back. I am blessed to no longer have to fight these fights.
I was a Protestant and became Orthodox as well.
Thanks for posting this and hopefully our Bishops and those in authority in the Catholic Church will be listening to what you have said here. Scary times for the Catholic Church as well.
Yes, - and thank you. It's the same spiritual fight - but the Catholic Church will pull through and see this off - though it may be a bit of a fight!
Tnank God the Orthodox Church retains its Catholic faith intact as it was received from the apostles.
@@DrGAshenden they won’t.
If this goes ahead we will no longer be able to refer to God as "He"
'Our Father' is to be taken out of the Lord's Prayer…a prayer that comforts millions.
We should stop bending God to OUR will instead of us surrendering to HIM.
We know God is our Father.
If you change your God, you change the religion. God is a He, it's stated in the Bible. Jesus said, I and the Father are One! (John 10:30)
We have always referred to God as He.
Wow, that's disappointing: "out of the fat, into the fire" 😨
Being established by State is not preserving unity . The State seeks pluralism these days .
@Robert BARRETT
The state is all but irrelevant to following and living Christ here on this earth. He leaves us here so that others see God's glory through our sold-old simple lives. "Deny yourself, take up your cross (don't let sin against you, produce sin in you), follow me." Where's the state in that?
I feel your pain... Male and female created HE them
RUN, HELL FIRE
It started with a King who could not accept that the Church did not allow his divorce and therefore created his own "Church of England".
Thank you for your message. May God hold us steadfast and bold in this age. A Christian brother holding firm to the faith, God bless from New Zealand.
From a confused RC after listening to pastor John Hagee ,he has opened my mind and heart which leads me here
Thank you Gavin for your calm voice of reason.
If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned." - John 15
The Church that was established in Antioch is the trunk. All others are branches.

Thank you for this timely message, Gavin.
Profound analysis with extraordinary clarity. Thank you.
A breath of fresh air and a tour de force. Thank you.
Come home back to Lord Jesus. He died for you not the Church of England. We do not like sin but love the sinners, as our Lord commanded us
@@tommix5444 Hello Tom, I said "We must not judge" because to my mind judgement implies condemnation in most contexts, (the work of God alone). However, we do need to rebuke wrong doing. In Jude 9 even the archangel Michael said "The Lord rebuke you", leaving condemnation to God.

At 62 and having lived an extraordinary and eventful life so far, with all it's false summits and black valleys, I have arrived back to my home, the Catholic Church. This post just popped up, however has steadied me in my steadfastness ( weird turn of phrase don't you think!) and served as a great addition to my newly acquired habit, morning hourly biblical and theological readings.( Trying and bumbling at times, through what I think your words were Christian Discernment, very grandiose of me! )
Anyway Wonderful.. loved your thoughts analysis, heartfelt and spiritual post.

My heart grieved as I heard you comments, I feel the same way and have never heard words so eloquently spoken. You speak truth.
