I think we are seeing more VN being translated into English simply because the market for anime, manga, and light novel is growing rapidly so Japanese editors probably just saw that there likely was a market for VN too. In the case of Type-Moon specifically, I'm pretty sure FGO (which is mostly a VN) making about $10M each month on its global/Chinese version helped convincing them to port their VN globally. Hopefully they start doing the same with their LN I would love to see Strange Fake or Case File in english.
