This is the most helpful channel ever I have two old cars that I maintain with the help of people like you and others who give me good advice. Im a 62-year-old woman I've always maintained my own cars but I do not know how to do air conditioning that's going to be 110° here for the summer thank you so much for doing this is exactly what I was needing to watch

Wow, Paul. I never heard of running the vacuum so long. I typically do 15 minutes and then a 15 minute vacuum test. Then I'll do 30 more minutes if the system was holding a vacuum. This is in line with what others have said, and with what the instructions with my equipment said. But, I do see how beneficial it is to get every molecule of water out of the system, and if a long period of running will allow more to boil out of the system (and possibly even out of the oil), I don't mind waiting. So next time I do one I will at least try it for several hours instead of what I've been doing.
