Very polished and well researched interview. Mam, is so sober and refined. Never in the program she spoke bad about India or Indians, which is very rare now a days. Whenever you again visit JK please visit Jammu as also, we will welcome you and show more of rich heritage of this region.
Beautiful Aktar Ali finally gets the recognition he deserves. He is the owner of the best collection and authentic shawls in Pakistan. Can never forget him. May Allah Bless him with good health and long life. To Jugnu I luv your series a mine of information for me although don’t always understand all the Urdu. But wonderful and very enjoyable
Beautifully brought the history of Shawl. Now Kashmir will have the highest ( tallest) railway bridge in the world and Kashmir will be connected to entire India by rail enabling the shawl makers to sell their product all over India. Many many thanks to Ms Bank for bringing the story .

Some corrections, I have lived in Kashmir Valley (genuine Kashmir) and studied her hence can mention that the Pashmina wool you have shown is not from Kashmir but from Ladakh. Ladakhi people are of Mongol Race and Kashmiris of Aryan Race. Also Pashmina shawl weaving is an ancient Kashmiri and not Iranian tradition. Iran does not have Pashmina. Also the Kashmiri Saffron an indigenous strain referred to in Kashmir as Kong is surely the top most Saffron in the world. Islam arrived very late in Kashmir that is 14th century. It was the preacher Bul Bul Shah of Turkmenistan who brought Islam into Kashmir. Also Maharaja Ranjit Singh Sandhu greatly encouraged the craftsman of Kashmir. Kashmir became a big exporter eventually of shawls to Europe.
Mam the king who introduced shawl n paper machie was Sultan zain ul abidin (Budshah)...not qutub ud din aibak.... Mir Sayed Ali hamdani RA came to kashmir during the time period of Sultan Sikander (father of Sultan Zain ul abidin).

What an informative series this is!! There is so much to learn from the host. Its a pleasure to watch such a sophisticated lady. There are thousands of shawlwalas who are spread across India who sell their products by visiting the houses. A family member from almost all shawl making families is spread across just for selling their products. Salwar kameez and shawl .Can you tell us approximately how many sellers are there in Pakistan currently?
@gulmina khan 100% agreed but buyers of such expensive shawls are mostly seasonal and rare so for their survival the shawl walas opted for alternates which also include machine work. If you insist they do have the connection to get you the originals as they all are in this field for centuries.
gulmina khan these are pure but antique ones i think you are talking about pashmina and toosh shawls..They are also available and these are all expensive asper quality and work...depends on how much you are willing to spend...if you have any doubts you can personally visit or allow us to show you the variety...🙂....and the lady who’s hosting this interview is expert n one of the best collector of kashmiri shawls in Pakistan...
Good information,bt madame you have omitted sikh period, during Maharaja Ranjit singh"s rein some of his euorpean military officers were paid their salary partly in Kashmiri shauls nd carpets.
This is how u market a product. Kudos to Hussain Ali & Jugnu bibi, this country needs such people.

most people here are not so much obsessed by their neighbours that they speak bad about them.
@Darinda Modi so true! Always spewing hatred...

gulmina khan 100 percent pure Kashmiri shawls these are and from Kashmir you are true these are very expensive
And these are made in Kashmir
