The most "operatic" of Mr. Mathis' performances, based on a melody from Alexander Borodin's STRING QUARTET IN D, with lyrics written by Robert Wright & George Forest. They provided this Jewel as part of the music for the score to the Broadway play "Kismet" in 1953. As I used to say, "Let's see Sinatra turn in a performance like THIS!" Let's see anyone today less than an operatic tenor like Ramon Vargas or Marcelo Alvarez try it!!! Perfect in all respects.👍 God's angels themselves were listening in as this immortal recording was being made. Mr. Mathis was really singing from the mountaintop on this one.😃 This video deserves one million views!!
