My friend's older brother introduced us to No Knife back in 01, such a great band, great to listen in the car or put it on at a party. I couldn't find "The Spy" on youtube, their CDs are so hard to find. Forget going through HMV...
I'm an Italian fan but I know them only by three years. I'm very disappointed about the fact that they are really unknown. In Italy nobody knows them; I think I'm the only one; and this thing gives me much sadness D: when they toured were they go mainly? Only America or other places? Are they still live in San Diego? Are they famous there? Excuse me for the questions:-) but I'd like very much to know them and to contact them in some way, but I don't know how to do it!!! No Knife had a cult following here in San Diego, their shows were pretty well attended, especially in the early 2000s, so yeah, they were pretty popular around these parts I guess you could say. I am a San Diego local and grew up with this band so thats how I know. As far as if they toured outside of the US I can't say honestly, and as far as contacting them, I don't know about that either. But I can tell you that they are playing a reunion on Oct. 31 2015, which is super exciting! I know its a long way for you, but I am sure you could meet em then, and I am sure they would be humbled by your dedication.
They do sound awesome live, they're just overall a great band. Maybe the business part of the music industry forced them to call it quits, or they simply just didn't make enough money.
it's just your opinion... i think that the rhytm and the guitar playing is really innovative, the atmosphere is special. As Cranberries sad ( :) ) "no need to argue" ... opinions are like assholes: everyone has one;) I understand your point but i think that simply you missed the main message of this band which is not a problem, what U said is interesting but I think not right about all aspects of this band. for me, they'r great. :)
Great band...i have an old gig from 8/29/98 in Seattle that I just put onto DVD...been filming shows for 17+yrs and have thousands of shows listed on my site...email if anyone's interested...

not seeing what special here, there no personality in the intrumentality of this music, its all reliant on the melodiy of the lyrics, which is important (im not a mainstream crusader, i understaand the nessesities of melody) but mainstream is all melody, devoid of substance. now im not goin as far as to call this absent of substance, but ostensibly, its sounds like mainstream radio bs. nothin too outside trite formulas of 10th grader music

I remember seeing this and thinking it was the best sound I'd ever heard on a TV show. One of the best SD bands ever ever ever....EVER.
They're so good. My all time fav local band from high school. Their music and the vibe of it still sticks with me, it always will.

I like how a lot of their songs, they tuned up the instruments to help give them more of that sharp angular sound.

i love/miss this band so much.
