It’s a combo of both! People are definitely leaving Arizona for more affordable living or a different lifestyle. It’s all depends on the person though 🙂
There is something wrong with you, if you move to a desert and then complain about the heat. You want crap weather, gray, gloomy, humid, rainy, cold weather with high property taxes taboot, then move to the East coast!
Haha sometime it’s hard to know if you’ll truly like something unless you live here for a while. Arizona isn’t for everyone. And yes east coast states seem to be more gloomy
For Phoenix, plan on it being north of 100 degrees, and up to 122 degrees, from around mid-May to Mid-October (that is a full 5 months-it is a long dam time for temps above 100 degrees). The heat "is" tolerable up to about 105 degrees, but anything north of that becomes very unbearable and you will be forced indoors or into your pool or a nearby lake on days where it is 105 and above. June and July are absolutely horrible with most days in the 107 to 117 range day after day after day (look at the daily averages on weather underground for the summers of 2020 through 2023)! It is absolutely the worst experience you could have regarding hot weather. It is the heat equivalent of living in Alaska with a -70 degree wind chill. You will have to have covered parking, and preferably a garage, for every car you own because when you get into a vehicle when it is 110 outside, everything you touch will burn you and after 10 years, your paint and car seats will be dried and crack if you leave them exposed to the sun (not joking)! I lived in AZ for many, many years and the heat in that state is next level and is not for the faint of heart. Trust me, you will get really sick of it. If it were really only 2 or maybe 3 months of the year that the heat was unbearable, it might be tolerable, but with the planet heating up and it actually being so hot for 5 months of the year, you really should think hard before pulling the trigger on the hell-hole that is Phoenix Arizona. Don't do it! You will regret it! Move somewhere else with cooler weather, even if that area has higher humidity.
@@mikyr3279 LMAO! Hope you like the extreme heat. Make sure to budget for buying a cabin in the mountains or a summer home in a cool climate and a boat, kayaks, or jet skis for the lakes. You will need them. And a pool and a 2 to 4 car garage are must haves, non-negotiable. These are things that the locals do and have done since Phoenix was first settled back in the late 1800s to cope with the heat. Of course, today, Phoenix is a heat island and is much hotter than it was 100 years ago when the rivers actually flowed through the valley and irrigated farms. None of that exists in 2024. It has all been replaced with rooftops, concrete, and asphalt, all of which absorb heat in the day and release it at night. On some nights, the temperature in Phoenix never dips below 90 degrees (not joking). Try going for a jog at 4 am when its 90 degrees in the dark, a unique experience you won't want to repeat. If you move there, you will understand my comments very quickly. Good luck! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Hilarious! I only wish I could see the look on your face this July when its 120 degrees outside and your electric bill is $600 (again, not joking). Oh, and enjoy the scorpions and rattlesnakes that are everywhere! So funny!
Hi Nicole, I really appreciate your help videos for those who might be considering moving to Arizona/outskirts. There are some smart people out there with hearts in tune that feel what is coming. Others are just completely oblivious. It is time to get out and away from the big cities. If you feel that call you're not alone.. many feel it but just don't know why. But you just know in your heart something very bad is coming. Maybe the worst time anyone alive has ever seen. You know the chance of survival in the big cities is very slim. It will be complete chaos. If you feel it but haven't acted, now is probably your last chance. We may have only months. If you have a family and young ones please don't procrastinate any more. Good luck to everyone and keep God close no matter where you go.
Moved here from Chicago 25 years ago. Phoenix Area has gone through a lot of changes some being good and some not so good. One thing I know is that I'm in a good place! This time of year you can ski in the morning and play golf in the afternoon.
I don’t think that will happen unfortunately. Just because people are leaving doesn’t mean people aren’t entering. House prices will most likely continue to go up.
The White Mountain are gorgeous. Hard to believe this is Arizona. Even tho our weather has been confused lately. We have had a little over 8 inches of snow in the last 2 weeks. Today however, sunny and already 65° (in the sun)
How funny, I currently live in Denver. I’ve lived here for slightly over 2 years since June 2022. I’ve lived in many states, but originally from California. Phoenix is a city that’s on my radar. I’m visited off and on and have most recently for spring training back in March 2024. For me, here in Denver, cost of living is too high and never was a fan of the snow. Maybe it’s my California blood lol. The thing is if I can handle the heat. Sacramento is the closet to experience that I have haha. Overall, it just seems to check all the boxes. Nice weather, Mexican food, outdoors, and sporting events. Sunshine makes me happy!
I'm home sick from a cold here in Flagstaff. We had 8 inches of snow over the weekend. More is coming. It's a crazy mix of sunshine and snow like no place else.
One summer my parents got a cabin for a month in Flagstaff. It was so fun! I love it there. Unfortunately too small town for me right now but maybe one day 🙂
I’ve been back for a month now and love being back here! I’ve enjoyed the rainy cloudy weather this morning and also the clear blue skies on the sunny days. I found a pretty decent apartment for only 1k/month. That’s a lot better than 2300/month in Broomfield, Co! I’ve noticed there’s a little more traffic since I was here in 19. I’m ready for the heat this summer!
What 1k where????? I'm leaving CO too.....ridiculously over priced and the weather here now is awful never sunny anymore. Back to AZ I'm going but everything I am seeing is $1450+ Where'd you find a 1k?
Moved here in January and still waiting for that warm weather 😂 I’m READY!! Sick of being cold 🥶 lol this feels very similar to Northern California weather
I lived in Phoenix most of my life just recently moved to another state. The Phoenix area is nice especially if you can live in the more affluent neighborhoods. like Scottsdale, Paradise valley, Biltmore Area, Desert Ridge, and parts of Gilbert. One of the reasons I left because I couldn't afford to live in these areas.
About 2 thousand people a year have been moving to the Prescott area. It is much cooler here, and lots of people from the Phoenix area moving here and from all over the country.
Wife and I deciding to in AZ or Texas around the end of the year (November or December) We doing homework on both states like where the best affordable city, but still undecided. It's so many do's and don't, we just lost between the two!!
