I would've loved to have gotten Commissioner Gordon, Chief O'Hara, the bowler hat/3-piece version of Riddler, the John Astin version of Riddler, & the Lee Meriweather version of Catwoman.
I wish they would’ve made the back copter commissioner Gordon, Chief O’Hara, and a Bruce, Wayne, and Dick, Grayson, and civilian clothes to go with Bruce Wayne Manor play set and most of all keto and the green hornet
I agree it is disappointing that they did not include villans like The Mad Hatter, Bookworm or even Shame when they spent a lot of time and effort on some variants that we could of probably lived without. The Figures Toy Company did a good job with including all key characters in their Classic tv series figures, though they did get a bit carried away with variants.
@@tylantroyer7201 Gordon has been announced for the new wave based on the Filmation 1977 Batman cartoon (as they dont have likeness rights for Neil Hamilton)
Yes we needed Afred more than Superman. Even Aunt Harriet! AND Chief O'Hara and the commissioner would have been great too. There could even have been a Batgirl Bike AND Commiosoner Gordons office play set????
FYI the line isn't ending. They have just announced a new wave based on the 1977 Batman cartoon by Filmation and ToyShiz (who has a contact with McFarlane) has said that the Batman '66 line is not dead and will be continuing
I don’t know. Todd has surprised us before. I thought it would be the end after the boxing shorts Batman but here we are. Hope he gets back to the actual tv show characters though. Nice review.
McFarlane have a terrible reputation for their capes on the Super Powers line, but at least they fixed it with cloth goods later on. I actually ordered a newer wave Superman figure to replace my wave 1 Superman cape as it was terrible quality and had a hole through it. At least with McFarlane they are cheap (Currently!) unlike Mattel or Hasbro stuff.
Your content and personality are a great combo, I’m very gutted they didn’t deliver on Alfred and a handful of our noteworthy side characters and at 17.99 and 19.99 the prices were honestly absurd, but I kept buying because the show was so good. It looks like they’ve got all in on the animated series now, selling them from 19.99 to 29.99 a pop. Really was hoping for the bat copter or a couple other goodies. I’ll check your channel for full breakdowns. I disappeared for awhile, all apologies, I got very sick on a business trip to South America to do research on the musica culture in Colombia and ended up out of commission for a good two months recovering from some form of malaria. All the best buddy, you are one of the only guys on here with the charisma to make anything interesting!
You can see the mark on camera, Dean can you iron out the mark? I'm not collecting this line but I would like to get that Death man figure , more so the glow in the dark version if I can find it cheaper.
I was poking around on YT to look for any signs of a continuation of the line when I found your review, well done! In addition to the very odd selection of figs in this wave, another sign that the line is finished is that I haven't seen any of these figures at their exclusive brick & mortar distributor Target, nor are they available on Target's website. In addition to a Bruce and Dick (c'mon, you already have the head sculpts!), I was hoping for at least one other version of Mr. Freeze (as there were three) and a version of Mad Hatter, the only other comic-based character that made it into the show, especially with the pink-cowled version of Bats done in the line. Also, now that Todd made Batgirl I could totally see a playset of Barbara Gordon's apartment and her Batgirlcycle (?). The most grievous unproduced figure is, of course, Alfred.
That Robot Batman is pretty awesome! Don't those rocket blaster thingies perhaps clip into the holes on the sides of the lower legs? I'm guessing you'd need a flight stand to display it that way though.
Cool they made a Lord Death Man. He's such odd obscure character. Turns up a little bit in the comics, featured in the 70's Bat Manga (that we didnt see in the west till decades later) and also turned up during Grant Morrison's Batman run in the modern comics. 😄
I have a 7-inch Adam West BatMan and a 6-inch Burt Ward Robin alongside each other on a shelf between a 7-inch Silver Age Joker and Detective Comics #27 BatMan, respectively. I kind of like the scale difference since it makes Robin look like the kid he was when BatMan took his in as his sidekick.
As someone who loved watching the 1966 Batman tv show, I always looked forward to you revealing the figures in this line. If this is the end, what an absolute popcorn fart to go out on. I thought the useless black and white variants would be the low point, but this time they aren't even using characters from the show when they had so many they could have produced. Anyway, if this is the end, thank you for all the videos showcasing this line.
Sheesh, okay, it's just your blind speculation that the line is ending... I mean it's possible, but re-use of tooling and amortizing of costs over the entire life of the line is pretty standard for toylines, I see no real reason to panic yet.
The line isnt ending, they have announced a new wave based on the 1977 Batman cartoon by Filmation and ToyShiz who has a contact with McFarlane has said that the Batman '66 line is not dead and will be continuing
I didn't even know BBTS sold these. I missed out on preordering Batgirl through Target, and I'll never find her for retail price, so I'm done regardless if the line continues or not. I think this new wave is pointless and dumb. There are at least half a dozen villains from the TV show that deserve an action figure like The Bookworm, The Minstrel, The Archer, Louie The Lilac, The Siren, Shame, not to mention Commissioner Gordon, Chief O'Hara, an actual Alfred figure, Aunt Harriet, and Hell, I'd take an Ethel Merman action figure over that Scare Glow knockoff. I begin to question whether Todd McFarlane has anything at all to do with this line.
First off, I've been waiting for you to review this last wave since I heard they were coming out. Personally I only picked up the robot Batman and the Skeleton man from this wave, The Joker and Superman were an easy pass for me and I didn't need the original Batman and Robin for anything, as I already had them both. Secondly, I hope you are dead wrong on this being the end of the 66 Batman from McFarlane. As you noted, there was a wide plethora of villains and characters that have yet to be made in plastic form for this line. But I have to admit, seeing them releasing figures from the 66 animated series doesn't give me a lot of hope. I was definitely hoping that this line would provide us all of the classic 66 show villains, but maybe that's a little too much to ask for. Regardless, I enjoyed the review of these characters and think you're on point fairly consistently with the review of these. I did not know about the glow in the dark version of the skeleton man either, fingers crossed that when mine lands on Monday, it's that one, even if it isn't likely. I'm not surprised that it's going for a premium, seems like they all do. And this one is certainly the one to get if possible. Always happy to see you talking about and reviewing more 66 Batman Dean. Hopefully there's more to come.
Thanks for the Batman 66 video review as always Dean. Sucks that this is probably the end of the line with so much more to do. A lot more villains, Bruce , dick & Alfred . No batcopter I don’t understand that. Was hoping least to reissue the batcave up to scale to properly display with the figures. Hopefully it’s not the end . We shall see…….

“Batman ’66” comic titles that were recently published by DC
Yes, that's what I said in the video.

A Batman v Superman side display with Batman using the Kryptonite?
