- In this episode of Raxxla theories i will be exploring the non game robert holdstock book the alien world and one particular part of that book, the Talmor lens. I will also be disscussing the possible connections that Elite dangerous has to this content and perhaps it's possible inclusion in the Odyssey update.

PLEASE NOTE
That although all confirmed lore researched to make these videos has been sourced from connected pieces of information such as gal-news articles, in game lore entries, wiki articles and forum posts some information mentioned is speculative. Extra material "outside" of Elite dangerous such as Robert Holdstock, wiki fandom, previous Elite games, forum speculation is mentioned as non canonical and is used to form opinion and speculation to future Elite dangerous storyline events. As such speculative sections to these videos are not to be regarded as confirmed lore and merely personal opinion.
I like the thought of a poor, unfortunate pilot who unwillingly gets thrown back into time. They're clueless as they descend to an ancient Earth, a land before time, their ship rocketing and careening back into the atmosphere screaming an angry red fire in their wake. I like to think of ancient humans interacting with the downed pilots, their helmets could be the general basis for the typical alien look.
I love how you are incorporating and structuring lore elements. I truly hope frontier notices your efforts.
On a separate but related note. Do you plan on expanding on the signal? I think there may be more there...
Cheers dude. They probably know better than me haha. Glad your enjoying them anyway.
The signal will be in a upcoming livestream in the not so distant future.
Randomly found that raxxla was in elite dangerous, got super hyped, but also learnt it had been found. Then randomly found your channel, seen this video, and instantly subscribed... This is what Elite needs, more mystery and lore....
Raxxla hasn't been found as of yet. It has been confirmed by frontier developments to be in the game. Thanks for the sub man. Hope you like my videos.
@@MATTIUS Obsidian Ant has a video explaining that yes, it has been found, how to get there and how some developer comments about it are true
@@ovaldreamx4397 can you link the video to the finding of raxxla please.
@@MATTIUS Nvm, april 1st seems to be some kind of joking day in America... So I guess it was a joke video? Weird cultural things I guess.
But here it is ruclips.net/video/kvA2OYR8ZTc/видео.html
As you see, not being American makes you make mistakes sometimes haha
April fools haha. I was thinking you were referring to that video. Trust me if we found Raxxla it would be all over internet, its the biggest draw that this game has.
I was thinking the guardians were building the talmor lens and the guardian ruins and beacons were somehow related
Another well constructed video, I love how you are putting together all of our known historical mysteries and fictional writings to explore the basis for inspiration within the Elite universe. Keep up the great work Cmdr o7
cheers Markus
Hi Mattius, I'll have to rewatch this video a couple of times to understand the connections you describe. It would be wonderdul if ED had the connections and used them as a game path for discovering RAXXLA. I sure do enjoy your videos. The topics and research you present are so we'll thought out. Be safe and please do keep your videos coming! Cheers.
They are non game links. Just food for thought i guess. ski-ffy.blogspot.com/2012/02/alien-world-complete-illustrated-guide.html
The 'Osir' remind me of the Xeelee a bit.
I will have to read it sometime. Seems interesting
What if Oisir-Raxxlan are the Thargoids?
I mean that Thargs have 2 races too: Oresrian and Klaxian (my translation mb not right). And the Thargs collecting meta-alloys for some purpose. And what if Thargs' cool wormhole-drive was invented on Jodetum?
I've kicked this idea around too
It would be amazing but also un-Elite like if they would add a alien species of Elves *Continues Imagining the ships*
"solar sails"
Turn the Wheel..
they made a mistake when building the pyramids? what were they supposed to point them into the ground?
My guess is that they wanted to focus extreme gravity into one point and harness a singularities time slowing abilities. The fact they used a pyramid was symbolic.
Just what I needed today, keep em coming cmdr o7
I know it's been a year... But keep it up! Love your content!
Anyway can you tell me the name of the last outro song?
Oh yea the raxxla injection I needed
Including the Talmor as a possible race is problematic for us CMDRs🤔 due to everything basically following greek mythology. There should be 5 races: Gold- Talmor no labor, Silver- Thargoid childrenof 100years, Bronze- Guardian self destructive, Heroic- humans "of the Trojan war", and Iron- CMDRs criminal and constant labor..
Is there any official mention of Holdstock's books by fdev or are they just understood to be inspiration?
There is no mention of his work by fdev. He wrote the dark wheel novel.
So these Pearls are no bigger than a childs hand? you mean like the device found on mars?
Yes. Although it is unknown if FDev are using Holdstocks other material.
@@MATTIUS it feels like an amalgamation of many stories. That whole mystery with the body that just showed up at that one facility with the mysteries mass that was detected but not seen... then the body was emitting that signal... that feels like Reaper Tech from mass effect. Like these raxxla people follow a reaper like agenda. Tech so exotic they can manipulate brain waves. Makes you wonder if it was even Raxxlan related, or if it was just another accident from the club testing whatever they have found.
Funny you should mention the technology involved. In the alien worlds book, there is a world called jodatham that the Oisir raxxla find. It contains the remains of a dead race who in turn found the world for themselves. Some of the stuff happening, for instance with Gam Romero like you mention or Jasmina Hasley could be from a race so old that even to humans in the 3rd millennium, their tech seems like magic.
@@MATTIUS It seems very safe to bet there is at least 3 groups on stage. Humans, Thargoid, and whatever Jasmina saw. The caretakers of the galaxy? Sounds like someone with exotic tech to me. One thing that sticks in my mind is the time frame... Braben, hail his name, seems very intent that life happens in an instant on the cosmic scale. That the probability we exist in the galaxy at the same time as another species is incredibly unlikely. Which is why i believe the Thargoids are extra dimensional. I'm mean... clearly witch space isn't just another part of the milky way... but it explains how they could be there to fight the guardians and us, yet somehow not covering the galaxy. Oh and speaking of witch space... next time you jump look for green clouds that look just like Barnards loop. I can't be the only one seeing these... you'll pass like 4 or 5 every jump. Looks just like it, only green. Now I'm just ranting lol... thanks for replying Mattius. Your obsession with this has pulled me in. Thank you for the inspiration.
If you remove the limitations of the body, only time is your enemy. Dont forget the Guardian AI...
does anyone have a link to where i can buy this alien worlds book? Thanks,

I may have some information for you regarding the signal and other things. If you want I can share with you, in Discord for example.
@@Mrrshal Do you have twitter. i tend not to use discord
I cant find these books you're referring to, could you link it please matt?
Is it the alien world by Steven Eisle? You said robert holdstock, but he only wrote alien landscapes
wait.... Its a pen name? Im confused lol
Robert Holdstock is the official name for the writer of the dark wheel novel that accompanied the original game in 1984. Steven Eisler was the "fake name" for Robert Holdstock who wrote other things possibly connected to Raxxla before the first games release. The two people are one person.
