The actual thing that happened to him makes me so sad. How, basically he used to be such a sweet person, but, Quint made him change. Once Quint died, he possessed him, and made him do terrible things. In the alternate ending, when Quint and Kate were fighting, Quint goes into his ghost form, then to Miles, then back into a ghost. Once Quint is killed, the real Miles is back, but is dead. The spider comes out of his throat and then original Miles comes back. But, in the books, Miles does not come back to life. Miles is possessed by Quint, and Flora is possessed by the old Nanny, Kate says the old Nanny's name to get the spirit out, but when she tries it with Quint, Miles and the Quint's spirit die. Literally makes me want to cry, even when he came back to life.
That was in the original book and movie, the remake is more focused on the character's being under attack of both spirits.. It was mostly quint who was the danger and made miles change but haunted the home while the past many was crying for help as a lost soul.

He was possesed by quint, who we later found raped and sexually assaulted the previous nannies. So that's why he was acting a little sexual to her. It was meant to make you feel uncomfortable, I had to rewatch the movie to fully understand.
It wasn't miles being weird. He couldn't control it.

I dont know if its even true and then if its in this specific movie too. i know most spoilers, but i cant buy it and ive heard from the original book today the forst time, so everything that i say is coming from other people.
