You can't teach what comes natural. Not only is everyones hands size different but everyones mechanics when releasing the ball isn't identical either. After throwing a football hundreds of times with fundamental QB mechanics, you'll eventually find what fits best for u when it comes to gripping the ball
The way he is teaching them to grip is WAY TOO structured. Like who the hell is gonna think about getting their "pinky here" or their "middle finger on this lace" when they have a freaking all out zero blitz coming? I always grip the ball towards the end and quickly apply thumb pressure, whether with or WITHOUT laces. Now, I have 10 1/4 inch hands so I can do that.
Idk about them, but I used to have to focus on where to stick my fingers on the laces, but eventually muscle memory comes into play and does it naturally. I have my finger placements on the ball memorized now and I can reach it with my eyes closed. However, that’s only if I don’t have to do a quick release and get the ball out quick. When the ball is snapped to me I give it a turn to get the laces where I want them to be, but if they’re not there, oh well my hand can adjust.
This is some good advice and as a QB I think this is very informative but I think QBs should be able to pick there own grip on the laces
Man I’m 44 yrs old and just doing this helped. I can spin it now with no wobbles! Never played football either
It all depends on the hand and the player but thanks for the tips
yeah and i cant grip a football because of my tiny hands
@@jmgonzales7701 Lmao same. They be telling me to grip it with 1 had firmly but my hand is not big enough to get a firm grip.
I’ve always done one finger just ring on the laces and no laces for quick throws
I was taught 3 fingers on laces, I see everybody do 2 fingers
It really doesn’t matter. It’s on personal preference but as long as the ball comes out the right way it really doesn’t matter
I was taught 2 but 3 just feels right

So when Im a beginner, especially young, I first train with the smaller football ? Because the normal one is too big in my opinion.
sneX yes

@@xshima5001 I agree with your way. At least you have a plan b if your initial grip doesn't feel right.
@KAEP I agree. Smaller hand qbs really got to pay attention to where their hand is. Hope it helped.
This works if everyone has the same exact hand size shape etc. Different hand diff grip...pfff
I can't throw a ball like this
That doesn't work good
This kid has bad form and he not gripping the Laces!! wtf
