    This was fantastic, thanks. The whole series is so amazing I can scarcely comprehend that it's available for free to anyone who wants to learn. Genuinely fantastic.

    I was getting lost in lecture, I find adding rows less confusing haha, also this slower but detailed step by step helped a lot! Thank youuu!

    In the lecture, Prof. Strang used subtracting a row from another but here your use addition, it doesn't make any difference but this difference with lecture kinda confused me! Tnx anyway, just mentioned for other learners.

    I like her voice, the way she pronounce the "a" in the word "back" is wierd, I'd heard it before with a friend from Israel. He also pronounce that kind of "a" in such way.

    Is elimination of matrix means overall matrix system, eg Gauss- jordan Elimination?

    Ah when you solve the whole problem correctly with substitution and don't recognize your mistake until rereading the problem after restarting the video

    Those operations are a bit hard until you get the hang of it. Anyways, I do prefer using Gauss-Jordan to obtain the solutions. Much neater.

    Why does this work?

    Why not z= 4 and u = 3? We already swapped u and z rows! Any ideas?

    • @dHnd2j1u
      @dHnd2j1u 4 года назад +4

      swapping rows does not correspond to swapping the order of variables, if you multiply it out you will notice it is merely a set of 4 equations and simply shuffling the order of those 4 equations does not change the order of those variables. (col1 is what is multiplied by x, col2 is what is multipied by y, col3 is what is multipled by z and col4 is what is multiplied by u. So exchanging rows does not affect that).
      If you were to swap the columns however, then you would be changing the order of the variables.

    But (1,1,3,3) could be a answer too?
