Honestly this is probably the best adaptation or modernization of Greek Mythology. It is a play on it but shows the writers know more about classic mythology than most people writing this type of story.
This game is so much closer to greek mythology than most other things that have come out recently, from the depictions of each of the gods, the happy relationship between Hades and his wife, the amount of gayness. It's all amazing.
Why is it so hard for people to understand: Hades (the place, yes the God and the place share the name) isn't Hell. Every mortal soul no matter if good or bad goes there to be judged. Most souls who led a decent life go to Elysium which can be the closest comparison to heaven or sweet oblivion. People who offend the Gods go to Tartarus (unless the Gods turned them into random household objects, variations of shrubbery or wildlife) to be punished forever. So basically Tartarus is Hell. So again folks say it with me: Hades. Isn't. Hell. Tartarus is.
Hell is a sufficient enough approximation of Hades. Is it worth getting so worked up over the name people use? And if I'm not mistaken Tartarus is the first area of the game, so saying that you battle your way out of Hell is appropriate regardless, as you said Tartarus is basically Hell.
@@D3m0n7x it's been a long time since I've delved into Greek mythology, so I couldn't tell you more than a quick Google search could.
