That was cool about their responses to your dating a Filipina. My parents (dad) disowned me when I told them. My best friend told me I was sad and pathetic to date a foreign woman 18 years younger. My three young adult children worried I was trying to replace them. Most everyone else thought I had lost my mind. So yours was a very good outcome.
Wow. I thought that just happened to me. Guess not. Except maybe age difference was more than yours but I guess it is what it is. I did rethink my situation but I got to thinking. Is this my life or their life? I decided to just keep going with the relationship and see how it goes. So far it is amazing and going well. It’s kinda sad that I have lost some of my friends and family but this is my life and not theirs.
@@Rusty1972 Over time almost everyone came around, even my dad (mostly). My mom (since passed away) adored my sweetheart. My kids think of her as a trusted adult they care about. Many people have prejudices, and some initially obviously lacked trust in my judgment, which I found a bit offensive. My darling is smart, sweet, and hardworking, not the "dirty, Filipina whore" my dad described. For reference, my darling was, in fact, an HR manager at an aerospace company in Pampanga with a college degree and four years of experience living abroad in Singapore. Racism and prejudice are things our Filipinas may face, and we along with them, but their strength of character and our strong support overcomes that. As you wrote, it is our lives and our spouses, so our business, what decisions we make.

Tough luck on the timing. My Filipina Fiancé (now wife) arrived 2 months before the pandemic closed all - got lucky on that…but just days before her flight, the Taal volcano erupted and she almost couldn’t make it to Manila from Bicol - was stressful indeed.
I never get scammed by trikes and taxes. I work out a flat rate before I get in . I have done this for six years, and live on Leyte. I can get nice cab from the airport at Manila to a hotel in Pasay for 300 pesos.
Its a bit bizarre. I presume this video must have been made in 2020. I have been to the Philippines twice since then and now I have a lovely Filipina girlfriend and I think shes the one. So. I hope you didn't give up. Its worth all the effort in the end.
@@AccidentallyRob agreed! a woman who sets "Rules" is someone who has a strong sense of self-worth, exactly the kind of woman worth finding. That doesn't mean we have to accept every one of them. Your compromise was good, though I probably would have stayed in decent lodging nearby, even those first couple of days spent with the family. The point after all is to get to know where she comes from and her family.
@@AccidentallyRob Spot on! By settings rules for you she'd be setting rules for herself as well. Those who prefer meeting many women are actling like being in a meat market. How would they feel if they were treated like a piece of meat?

You have to pay attention for sure.
Hey Rob, great video. From the last episode (25), I was thinking something like this would happen.
Sad but true!
Oh Man! I knew that would happen. I am so sorry! The lockdown happened March 13 where I live. But good things come to those who wait.
Waiting is sometimes difficult.
