- I made a Minecraft server that I literally thought was not possible. It’s a server for datapack developers (and normal people too), where you can make and share minigames, maps, anything at all really, using the vanilla tools given to you by Mojang, in all their weird Minecraft-y glory. This has been a ton of work. Now it's up to you guys to show if it was worth it.

This video is about a new minecraft datapack server for developers, programmings, mapmakers, command block users, minigame players, map enjoyers, etc etc. It has VSCode in the browser, it's a minigame network sort of, uhhh, what other cool words can I say down here. If you want to learn commands or a command tutorial, this is a great place to get started. You can learn how to make a datapack so much faster, without the boring part. It's easy for real for real. You can even use command blocks, if that's your thing. WorldEdit is here too. Yup. Ok I think that is enough description.

y'all are incredible. this video is my best performing ever (in the first 14 hours), and as a result the server has literally crashed overnight 😱 I've just woken up and will be putting all my efforts into scaling it and making it stable once again! ABSOLUTELY INSANE SUPPORT GUYS THANK YOU SO MUCH ❤

As a long-time DiamondFire player, I fully support this project. We need more servers like this- having only one server aiming towards player created content leads to a lack of innovation. I don't know if your DF sponsorship inspired this server or what, but I appreciate the unique approach!

Wow this is quite the feat! I love using Minecraft's vanilla commands to make cool projects but being able to share it like this is just amazing!
The concept of this server reminds me a lot of another server DiamondFire, except that this server is more generous with minigame development features. (DiamondFire only gives you a small plot of land for your minigame and you do all the coding in-game and locks many features behind paywalls) People are going to do some really cool stuff with this!

This is absolutly no doubt about it AMAZING!!!! there is so much potential in this!!!! I was always planning on making my own 2D game inside of minecraft like a platformer or and RPG, But now with this server......... I CAN MAKE IT MULTIPLAYER!!!!!-----after buying a rank of course.
I do see why you would need moderation for the resource packs and all that but it does make my a little sad that i would have to pay for the resource pack as I myself am a resource pack developer.
I want to hop on this immediately but I probrably wont be paying for the resource pack until i have made map in the test world and have ported it over.

YES!!!! Finally there is an actually easy way to write datapacks with other ppl too, it was such a pain before to have 2 ppl work on 1 datapack and auto sync that to a wrold and all that.

My man, really stoked for the idea. There is a server called diamonfire (not a promotion) and it does essentially the same thing but in a different way. Your project remnds me the wholesome times I've had back on that server. It was more powerful back then because datapacks werent even a thing. They still impress me till this day BUT In my opinion datapack dedicaded server is a lot welcoming and vanilla. I love vanilla experience because it is this thing when you thought that your game has drowned itself in repetition with default creative/survival and smps servers but then it opens an entire backdoor to peek through. You suddenly feel so powerful after discovering all the vanilla hidden features. I remember the time before 1.12 and functions when we had to use so many niche and quarky mechanics using command blocks and old command to find workarounds and make it work. Did you know that pre1.13 you had an option to use {display:{LocName:""}} instead of {display:{Name:""}} if you wanted to remove italic font? Yeah this was very unknown and I felt immense power upon everyone XD I'd really like to play on the server and create my own online minigame or adventure map for everybody to try out. Mapmaking experience since 2016 baby gotta spend it somewhere
This is an incredible project; I've been convinced to get back into datapack creation and exploration. The concept of being able to share and collaborate on your creations so easily and seamlessly seems like such a huge deal that will hopefully create a proper datapack/mapmaker community. The detail that you can download/export your creations is a huge deal because that alleviates my only fear of this platform: creating something cool and having to worry if your work will disappear if the server becomes too expensive to upkeep.
I've been a programmer for 8 years now and almost never left the realm of scratch and python (somehow) and I've always wanted to learn datapacks, but when I tried I failed miserably. This server is exactly what I need to get myself started in the datapack community. I would love to support the project! Thanks for this server!
My go-to method for motion is to summon an armor stand at 0 0 0, move it in the desired direction, and then copy over the position NBT to the Motion NBT.
also even though they're finicky and limited, the satisfaction that comes from using creativity to work out a solution is IMMEASURABLE.
doesn't work for players as you can't use /data on players

I'm not an experienced datapack developer by any means, but I'm the kind of person to sink hundreds of hours into a cool command based mini game idea, but then give up halfway through. To be able to share and show people my games and ideas would be amazing, and would be a great way to get play testers and valuable feedback

This server is going to be so cool, I've created a bunch of datapacks, but never published them because, as you said there is no dedicated site or somenthing for datapacks. I couldn't make a world but I'm so exited to play

I had seen a tiny channel that did pretty much this but for mods a few years ago (I think I stumbled upon it after watching your vids and attempting to do stuff) but the project was inactive ever since and pretty much dead in the water. Glad you brought it back.

I'm cancelling my microsft realms and paying for your service for sure. I use minecraft datapacks to teaching programming. One of my students has a datapack almost ready to go and he will be so pumped to have other people try it. Your videos are also a greate resource.

this looks awesome… as someone who already develops datapacks, i have to ask 2 things…
1. will the browser vsc support plugins, such as the datapack language correctors & autocompletes or icon extensions?
2. is there any way to upload existing projects to the server? or download, for that matter? it would be a fun way to share things already developed, and it would be a little sad if projects made there are completely locked to the server itself…
p.s. im in a discord with a group of people attempting to make a datapack sharing website right now! it definitely still has the awkward restrictions you were talking about, where a 3-piece combo map, datapack and resource pack for a multiplayer experience wont easily get people playing. and the community currently only has like, 750 members. but, it still gives me some hope for a datapacking website. its not released yet, but it seems they have a lot of really convenient and polished features for datapacking stuff :)

coooooooool! personally i prefer to use actual mods for modifying the game because you can do so much more but i can very much respect datapack devs because that still takes a whole lot of skill and brain power to make a good project.

You should defenitely add in Optimisations... Like tick classing (so a tick prompt that runs every 1 tick, every 2 ticks, every 3 ticks, 5 ticks, 10 tick and 20 ticks...) And proximity (so a part is only active when player is in distance of ... to the part requiring...)
Optimisations are the world for datapacks...

the server average player count is 10 players 😭there are so many great projects on it too everyone join the server (it is dying because legitimoose is not uploading😭and there is no server content (someone make content on it))
please any datapack yter could make one video and double the playercount
