Yup, first thing i thought when seeing this was, "cool, you can just put a flat battery straight onto it to charge it up while you're using it [the gen'] for other things". I do use Ryobi ONE+ tools and batteries and if i were to purchase a genny, that would have been a significant selling point, as it would be one less hassle not having to run a charger off one mains' outlet and having it get in the way. i expect it would have cost only a few dollars at manufacturing level, but buyers would have been fine with an initial MRSP of $10-20 more - we wouldn't know about it, just know that as being 'the' price.
Honda now has the phone app option but it’s still over a grand for the small inverter generator and a large unit that would power your fridge and other appliances is around $5k for having Bluetooth nice video it’s cool it starts with a ryobi battery if it dies just have more than one way better than a standard battery
Same! First had a bad carb out of the box. @nd ran 12 hours and the inverter died. On the third and just selling it off, not worth saving money if I can't rely on it. Also it not charging the battery while it sits in there, STUPID. Good ideas, bad execution.
The Comparable Honda unit is a EU2200i which costs $1099. Honda is known for build quality, reliability, low noise and purity of the AC output sine wave. How can you declare this unit equal to or better than Honda when you didn't test any of the features I just listed? Don't get me wrong, this Ryobi may very well be equal to a Honda that but that determination can only be made over time. Put a couple hundred hours on this unit and report back.
@@Toolsinaction I think you misunderstood my comment. Telling us about a new product is great and we appreciate it but declaring that X is better than Y without even doing some rudimentary testing of X is just silly. Even junk tools and equipment usually work fine out of the box. It’s later that they start giving you problems. It’s akin to car commercials that declare that the new 2021 Chevy is more reliable than Honda or Toyota. Which will only be known for sure a year from now.
@@eosjoe565 Yup, even though most things shown aren't relevant to me, I enjoy seeing what's out, but some basic checks/verifications would have been a sound idea - the quality of the waveform, and verification of it being able to sustain the rated output, the sound level when under full load, etc, would have been simple checks to do, as some equipment is fine when lightly loaded, but under load has issues with things like these.
@@bluegrasskid4835 no but all those cheap chineese generator uses bad quality materials for carburetor, they start easily the first year, then it's a pain the 2nd year, 3rd year it needs to be cleaned. They don't even use a fuel filter most of the time. at least with fuel injection it's a bit more reliable. take the money from all the gadgets on this one, put a proper fuel injection system, then it might be as good as a Honda, wich is carbureted but uses a quality carburetor and fuel pump, with quality rubber parts than won't dry up in a year or 2.
Powerhouse PH2400PRi/E Inverter Generator With Electronic Fuel Injection - 2400 Watt It’s $743 there’s a few but they obviously cost more than a carb model
Wow this is freakin awesome guys Thank you for showing us!!! TIA#1!!!!
Co2 detection is a great feature to have for home owners

Is there a reason why you guys haven't gone over the 40v ryobi chainsaw..
We have it, we showed it off in our stories on Instagram
I can't get mine to run, I'll take to Home Depot tomorrow and see if they can get it running... They are not in stores so it was ordered on line.

great unit but is not enough to run any campers AC and microwave (boondocking). Needs to be 3650 Watt like the whisper quiet Firman
Wouldn't it also need a 30 amp outlet to hook up to a camper?
Love ya show, have you guys heard of Dr Fuel just as good as the expensive stuff but cheaper . . .
Needs to be dual fuel. I prefer the convenience of propane.
The propane is a bit more expensive but the convenience like you mention makes it worth it.
wondering how may beers you had? you're slurring like a generator
I've had 4 of these they just suck... Ryobi replaced two ...Just crap..

Ok, dont tell our audience about new tools. Use the tools for a few years, then when they are not popular search topics we will dominate!

@@Toolsinaction the fact that you reacted to constructive criticism like this tells you where this channel is headed.

No way man, I need my generator to generate, less is better with less things to go wrong. I'll stick to my Hondas you guys enjoy all the toys.
It's not better than a HONDA. It's good but not close.
Carbon Monoxide is CO, not CO2.
Another interesting video!
My bad
Hardly!
Just habit....
It doesn't make any sense why they wouldn't have a built-in charger for that battery.
It's not all that uncommon. A lot of the Generac generators do not charge their battery. You have to plug in a small wall-wort to charge the battery.
Y'all reviews are going down the drain. Not even detailed, fire it up, take it apart. All you doing is explaining what's labelled on the box.
Take it apart? yea no
Still carbureted 🙄
Are even the smaller generators going away from carburetors?
