    @voltoman We try to keep the show upbeat. We may do some other slower paced build videos for those who would prefer it.

    I don't think anyone got called out for having their attention stolen by the EPP FPV plane as bad as I did. Literally busted out laughing when Josh stopped to point that out. Guilty as charged.
    Great video as usual. I helped contribute to your Like count on FB, which is exceedingly rare for me. Hope to see that EPP FPV review ASAP! Keep the videos coming.

    Remembering the word "CRAP" sound funny but thinking about repairing the plane after the crash can make a huge difference. Anyway this video is helpful and it can guide in case you crash the rc plane in the future but crashing it, is not a option but it could happen. However if you did crash the plan, make sure you,got correct tools.

    @theeverythinggeek828 Also, just to be clear. We did not glue the motor mount directly. It was held by screws to balsa plywood... and that was glued to the foam. In the chance the motor would get that hot, the plywood acts as an insulator. We would never recommend using hot glue directly on a motor mount. :)

    @theeverythinggeek828 If you're motor is running that hot you are most likely over propping it (propeller size or pitch is too high). A properly matched, and running motor shouldn't get that hot. E6000 is another option. It holds really well, dries fast and is very flexible. GOOP is yet another option. It dries slower, but it's VERY strong!

    Great video guys. Excellent work.
    One thng to add...
    Having repaired your plane , especially if adding lots of extra foam / tape / glue and reinforcements dont forget to re-check the Centre Of Gravity!!

    Okay this was great! I subscribed immediately! The two of you back and forth and the banter was great! The information given was invaluable and great for someone like me repairing my first channel 3 Channel foam flyer that I've damaged from learning to fly. If you could maybe slow the speed down some on the speed of delivery of the information that would make this a perfect video for newbies. Keep up the great work!

    The "Fiberglass Tape", aka Scotch Extreme Tape, does not have any UV protection. Make sure you check the "yellowing" and drying out of the glue on the tape. It does fail over time.

    @fisherboom Its because a wing surface like that would need a frame instead of a single carbon rod if you ask me. Then again it flies perfectly fine without such a frame and with this rod thingyfoo.
    It does show the rod is strong enough to go through the EPP without snapping though. :p

    If you crash and fix too often you'll end up with a heavy plane. I know 'cause that's what I did. Finally had to scrap the plane and start over.
    By the way, you guys should do a "Winter Flying Tips" video.

  • @InTheSh8

    Nice. But I don't understand that you tape the ailerons when they're at neutral. I tape them fully extended from opposite direction (both sides). This ensures full travel in both directions and immense durability. Actually this should be done from the beginning, before first flight. Is the fiber tape more flexible than duct tape?

    • @elexoflyer9363
      @elexoflyer9363 8 лет назад

      The tape was placed on a one-sided hinge, similar to the scratch builds they use, so the tapes movement would be almost none.

    Can we maybe see some Radio demo/review and the application?

      Most CA isn't foam safe and it contains chemicals which break down foam, you can buy foam-safe CA from most hobby shops, or just search for it on the internet.

    I tried repairing my AXN with CRAP and it smelt like a farmyard.
    So I will stick with Hot Glue :-)

    • @JohnFHendry
      @JohnFHendry 9 лет назад

      I don't understand using hot glue, it's heavy and it doesn't flex to absorb energy. I'd have used Shoo Goo (NOT Amazing Goop) thinned down and made the repair flexible, lighter and stronger. It takes time to cure but its worth it IMO. Unlike Goop Goo is amazing! (Try using Goop on a shoe... you won't get very far)

    • @firebird8600
      @firebird8600 9 лет назад

      John F Hendry what do you use to thin shoo goo?

    • @Topvideos1001
      @Topvideos1001 9 лет назад

      I would answer but I have no idea what you are talking about ?

    • @JohnFHendry
      @JohnFHendry 9 лет назад

      Topvideos1001 You've never tried Shoe Goo? It's GREAT glue used on EPP foam when thinned down using Toluene solvent. The best IMO as it sticks well, stretches, and is much cheaper than other glues and used correctly can create exceptionally light weight repairs. Down side is it takes 24 hours to fully cure and reach maximum strength no other glue can match and why it is used on shoes. It melts some types of foam but EPP and some other foam types are not effected so check to be safe.

    • @firebird8600
      @firebird8600 9 лет назад

      Thanks, John! I wasn't aware that it could be thinned, so I never thought to use it for airplanes.
