i wanted to rate the tracks i have gone to but then realized the one you win money at is your favorite! ps only track i up at is the old liberty bell racetrack near philly won 4 of 5 visits and since its gone cant give it back
If you like Saratoga Race Course and Keeneland you will love Tampa Bay Downs. Same atmosphere. Great Sunday brunch whenever brunch comes back into existence. Clean and friendly, reasonably priced! Odds are at least 15-1 you will have good weather. WEHC got this pick “right on”.
I am glad you have had the same experience. I been to both of the tracks you mentioned and it has that same kind of vibe just on a smaller scale with less people. I didn't know about the brunch. I will have to plan on a Sunday next time I visit there. Thanks for letting us know about that!
Seriously, I love this channel. I picked up watching horse racing during the Rona lockdown in March and this channel was one of the first I started watching to get tips (your reading PP's 5 series was a lifesaver). While, I know i have way more to learn you've helped me tremendously. Enjoy, Florida .... Oh and your vid yesterday about the longshot play helped me greatly at GP today.. Thanks again
You are welcome Frankie. I am glad they have helped. The game is a lifelong pursuit that you always try to get better at it which for me is part of its allure. Continued success and thanks for watching the videos!
I’m glad to hear we are the only ones who loved TBD. Someone said it below, but it does feel similar to keeneland. I believe the main grandstands at both were built in the 30s and the set up is definitely familiar. Really knowledgeable crowd, lots of retirees who have been playing the horses their entire lives and just enjoy sitting down with a form and sunshine. Incredible simulcasting options, cheap beers, awesome staff- I can’t recommend it enough.
Thanks for sharing!! I am glad you had a similar experience. I agree. I felt the same kind of vibe too. Hopefully I will be making trips there for many winters to come and eventually be one of those retirees veteran horseplayers.
Just stumbled on to your video. I’ll be flying into Tampa this weekend and will be going to the downs as soon as I get off of the plane. It’ll be my first time at this track. I’m actually staying in Orlando. Whenever I’m out of town, I usually try to find horse racing nearby. I’ve been to a few around the country and they’re all fun. By the way, has anybody ever told you that you look like Charles Barkley? Just saying…
Haha no! Me and Sir Charles might be long lost cousins or something! I have a place a couple hours South of Tampa so hopefully I can keep making visits there during the winter through the years. I hope you had a good time there and thanks for watching and commenting on the video.
Greatest game in the world !!

That is true! I guess winning does make them our favorites!!! Good point. I hate to see so many tracks closing over the years.

Totally get the keeneland comparison. A similar crowd, friendly and knowledgeable folks who are just happy they get to spend the day talking horses.

I planned on going opening weekend, after visiting family for Thanksgiving, but due to Covid stuff, it didn't work out :( Hope to get there soon!
You should! It is a nice laid back time.

I was just there a few weeks ago. The people in Tampa are really laid back.
No doubt about that! I would be laid back too with that kind of weather in winter. haha. It was a nice atmosphere.
@@Weekendhandicapper I live in Orlando so I'm only a drive away from there.
@@omegatheoriginal nice! That's a cool city it seems.
Definitely would have recognized you there
Yes probably so!
