    Smoke detectors are very useful in detecting smoke or fire in buildings. In this DIY tutorial, we will build a smoke detector that not only senses smoke in the air, but also reads and displays smoke levels in PPM (parts per million). When the smoke concentration is above 1000 ppm, the circuit triggers a buzzer that can be changed in the code as required. This project uses the MQ2 sensor and the single board microcontroller, Arduino to determine and detect the smoke intensities. This sensor is also sensitive to LPG, Alcohol and methane.
