    Thanks Geoff. I always enjoy your various LR videos. I own a S3 and fitted my Roamerdrive more easily after seeing your video, as well as both a 4x4 RFSV and a 6x6. Had to chuckle about "if you are a bit strapped for cash" You are talking to LR owners. 😂

    I use the Donaldson P550422 filters instead of the ryco, oil pressure comes up much quicker with those.

    Geoff, quick question. I was taught to never tighten an oil filter beyond hand tight, no tools needed. True?

    • @seriouslyseriesaustralia
      @seriouslyseriesaustralia 3 месяца назад

      Hi Frank. First question, no you don't need a tool though it is handy to have one to help get the tool off. Second question, if the oil filter is cartridge filter then yes you can wash it in diesel and use it again if required. Kind regards, Geoff

    Geoff, to save a mess when draining from sump, perhaps suck most of the oil out of the drip stick home first. Then you only need a smaller container under the vehicle.

    • @seriouslyseriesaustralia

      Very true, what tool do you use to suck the oil out of the dipstick? Kind regards, Geoff

    I was told by a mechanic that the Perentie engine oil filter is reusable, by washing the filter in diesel and drip dry.

    How did you know that I had a beard made of steel wool? I keep plenty of oil and grease in mine to limit rusting, but it's still a bit red from the rust.
