I mean you did kind of explain why in your question. Representation is important! Miku's whole purpose is to allow artists and listeners to make her however they see fit with artistic interpretations! And most importantly, I'd look up videos about why representation is important. It might clear confusion.
in the case of Miku, she doesn't have a canon race + she is still japanese :0 ithink its just fun to make an interpretation that ppl who look like me can relate to !
