Zabbix - How to install Zabbix Server 3.4 On CentOS 7 / RHEL 7

- In this video tutorial, we will cover how to Install Zabbix Server 3.4 on CentOS 7 and RHEL 7 servers.
If " zabbix server is not running " or you got the message “Job for zabbix-server.service failed because a configured resource limit was exceeded. See “systemctl status zabbix-server.service”
you should to do some extra modification on SeLinux
setsebool -P httpd_can_network_connect=1
setsebool -P httpd_can_connect_zabbix=1
setsebool -P zabbix_can_network=1
yum install policycoreutils-python -y
- Execute those commands more than once
cat /var/log/audit/audit.log | grep zabbix_server | grep denied | audit2allow -M zabbix_server_setrlimit
semodule -i zabbix_server_setrlimit.pp

I guess you still having issues with SELINUX, you need to create a policy using audit2allow or you need to disable the Selinux
At 11:44 you do a show tables; and when I do that I get the message Empty set (0.00 sec). Prior to that I did the show databases; and saw what you saw and then also did the use zabbixdb;. Set by step I have been following but I dont see the tables like you. Do you know what I missed?
I see where I messed up when I pasted in the zcat command for importing the initial database. I got an error and didn't see it. No such file or directory. After going to /usr/share/doc I see my version is 3.4.6 and your's in the notes are 3.4.0

I went through all the steps and copy and pasted everything and it wont start. root@localhost ccvadmin]# systemctl start zabbix-server

Where should I look to see why that is? Process: 31993 ExecStart=/usr/sbin/zabbix_server -c $CONFFILE (code=exited, status=1/FAILURE)
Chris Holub hi there, try to run this command setenforce 0 and start the zabbix server service if it work means that selinux is blocking the zabbix service to start . Waiting for ur feedback

Hello, when I do the status of the server it tells me the following:

and in the web browser it says "the sever is not running" and the status is no
It's doesn't started because of the Selinux, i guess you should disable the Selinux and reboot the server
I got Empty set (0.00 sec). I did everything step by step. I use 'tab' for end syntax. I get this messages gzip: /usr/share/doc/zabbix-server-mysql-3.4.11/create.sql.gz: not in gzip format

Hi try to use gunzip or gzcat command and after that import the create.sql using the mysql tool
i try gunzip /usr/share/doc/zabbix-server-mysql-3.4.11/ and i get
gzip: /usr/share/doc/zabbix-server-mysql-3.4.11/ is a directory -- ignored
the command should be : gunzip /usr/share/doc/zabbix-server-mysql-3.4.11/create.sql.gz

Hi there, to set up a password for the root user to gain access to the mysql check this tutorial yallalabs.com/linux/securing-mysql-server-mariadb-with-mysql_secure_installation/
The password of the user "zabbixuser" on the database "zabbixdb" is "Password" like been showed in the tutorial .
the default user and password to gain accesso to the Zabbix Frontend is Admin/zabbix
