    Are Mechanical or Optical Switches better for dragclicking? In this video will found explain just that!
    Lots of mice in the past could dragclick and even double click due to their relatively primitive software and debounce software. However, as technology and innovation progressed, so did software. Debounce software, which is in nearly every modern mouse, limits the CPS and prevents double clicking and dragclicking.
    In addition, newer mice started to adapt optical switches and replace the old traditional mechanical switches. With that also came newer software changes that involved debounce. Due to newer mice containing optical switches as well as debounce software, it is often impossible to dragclick on mice that have optical switches. As a result, optical switches are often seen as poor/bad switches for dragclicking.
    However, switches have a minimal affect on dragclicking. Rather, its the software that should be taken into consideration when purchasing a mouse for dragclicking. A prime example of this would be Bloody Gaming mice. Mice such as the Bloody A70, Bloody Abedless, Bloody A60. These mice are exceptional dragclicking mice that have optical switches. Due to their amazing software, debounce can be easily changed; therefore, this proves that switches don't impact dragclicking.
    RUclipsrs such as Bedlessnoob play Minecraft Hypixel Bedwars and use clicking techniques that involve dragclicking in Minecraft to god bridge and bridge across very fast. Drag clicking and double-clicking are very useful in that game.

    I thought no one would believe me about this since razer and roccat have optical switches but both market 0 denounce (I dont know if roccat does but razer does) and it perfectly sums up my thoughts but I have another point that I thought of this for which is that double clicks are physical, what I mean is if you purposefully double click if you just press your mouse normally and it clicks twice that's the switch or software problem but when you do it intentionally you bounce the button up and down so that you can basically instantly click it which is a very bad explanation but if you try to double click slowly it wont work but if you dont move your finger you can click again which seems to me basically how you do it. I'll try explaining again so you tape your mouse button and it bounces back up and when you keep moving your finger down you click again and for triple clicks you do a double click and like another triple click but the problem is sometimes you will get accidental double clicks with mechanical so the cps isnt 100% legit if you even want to consider it but it still is a skill you have to learn I'll agree in competitive minecraft it isnt as fun when someone's butterfly clicking 24 cps and taking literally no kb but alot of butterfly clickers dont even click 20 while pvping. Wow I just typed that all and it all went off topic kinda.
    Edit: it's also kinda not a lie about their switches not double clicking since they are talking about accidental double clicks which are physically impossible with double clicks but if they removed the debounce time it would 100% be an insane drag click mouse just like bloody except well they have actually good mice and I'm going to stop now before I write even more

    • @Muielamanelisti
      @Muielamanelisti 3 года назад

      No it's not the same, mechanical switches wear up to 10x faster than optical ones, witch means oxidation and failing of the components inside the switch, the optical ones has more plastic, less to 0 metal contacts also the spring inside is different from the normal switches.
      So yes Optical switches are faster and more durable, for example
      Top mechanical switches are
      1. Omron depending on the color ( blue ones are more recent, last up to 50 mill clicks so they say ) but normal red ones up to 10 and if ur lucky 20 mill click's
      2. Huano has a decent life span of ~1-2 years
      3. TTC ( witch are the worst ones start to 2x click after 6 months
      Optical switches are the same 0.02 ms response time and no 2x click or 0 register when you press them ( they do NOT become less clicky and get more mushy over time ) => they last longer

      No. The switches have no impact on the debounce. It’s just like how the color of a car has no impact on its speed. Debounce is determined by the software of the mouse and in some cases even the electrical components that compose the pcb (aka dc prevention).

    • @felipearaya5741
      @felipearaya5741 Год назад

      All optical switches can detect drag-click, it's just that the vast majority of mice that have them use detection limits. This type of limit is called "mask" (not to be confused with "delay"), which would be 27ms in the case of Razer optical mice, which detect up to seventeen clicks per second. That limit probably exists because it would have a big advantage over mechanical mice, which despite having detection problems, by adding a delay due to electrical rebound, are still considered an option for buyers, and therefore develop more mechanical mice.
      The optical mouse that I would recommend the most is the ROCCAT Kone Pro Air, since it has a configurable debounce delay, and you can select it at 0ms. On this mouse, it has reached more than two hundred clicks per second.

    no for example on razer mices the optical switch is made to provent debounce time,there for there is no debounce delay, the razer optical switches are made so that there is no physical vibratoin in the switch, no debounce delay and faster responce time. optical switches are the cause of not double clicking ON RAZER MOUSES since the optical switches in razer and bloody are not the same

    • @helixmods
      @helixmods  3 года назад

      your explanation does not explain how the mice cant register clicks above 25 cps regardless of clicking method. Software in the mice prevent double clicking and drag clicking. The switch has only 2 outputs (on/off).

    • @felix720p
      @felix720p 3 года назад

      this phenomena is due to switch pooling rate, or top out in a way, the fact that the switche can be on or of is false on razer mices since the laser beam has a with and it takes a sertain force t oaccuate the mouse click, this is caled in physics as a force threshold, fore is mesured in newtons, when converted into cinetic energy the posistion potential energi that forams mechanical energy converts into mouvement, said differently it means the force you over come to accuate the switch translate into a movement that has a speed, this speed can be aproximated as constant, since the threshold is almost always the same, so the time that the light blocker takes to travel the with of the light beam and the post travel is the reazon for the 25 cps max, it probably takes 1/25ms, that's the periode, if we consider the acuation of a mouse switch as a frequency, it means the time you need to wait beetwen clicks with a razer optical switch, in frequency therms it's caled the periode, the patern that repeats over and over for the number of Hz or MHz in a seconde, mechanical switches are different they have a much higher frequency, since the accuator dosn't need to go back up, it simply needs to slightly vibrate

    • @felix720p
      @felix720p 3 года назад

      @Boyten88 for a contact based switch yes, since the comutator chaders against the contact leaf, this is caled chadering and is what leads to quick on off succestions before the click stays flush against the contact leaf

      @Boyten88 why would they introduce delay if the point of the technology is to reduce latency ???? And how do you know if there is a delay, from testing the delay is similar to the one of a mechanical switch with debounce set to 1 ms, it,s not faster since pooling rate is maxed out at 1000Hz so theoreticaly you could not get mouse to system larency of below 1ms or 1s/1000Hz or 0.001 second

      @@helixmods he kept on saying that the switches matter and you need mechanical switches to double click. Your vid completely debunked that. Great vid btw

    um i have a question why are you putting keyboard switches on screen instead of mouse ones i completely understand they are pretty much the same thing but with different looks and sounds and sizes but it would really have helped if you put mouse switches because if someone was trying to switch their mouse switch out because they saw this video and they decided to get a keyboard switch and ... :| solder it to their mouse (man that hurts to say) it would break and they would get mad and leave hate comments on your videos and give a dislike
    leading to other people with the same idea to leave your channel and forget about it

      ummmm I dont think anyone would actually buy the keyboard switches tho. I used them to illustrate the idea of optical switches bc there are not any good photos of optical switches or animations that I could use for my vid. Also, I wasn't recommending my viewers to buy any product whatsoever

    drag click and ur mechanical switch will die way, way faster than an optical one .... i mean an optical one has from ~50 mil to 100+ mill click lifespan
    Wile an mechanical has a real lifespan of 5 mil to maximum 10 Mil clicks
