i just found your videos. Tommy was a great man and friend. i fished the PWT years ago and became friends we sadly miss him. nice videos. keep his spirt alive.
Thanks for sharing your experience. Tried trolling for crappie at LOZ today for the first time and caught some nice slabs thanks to what I learned watching your videos. Please keep them coming!
Mike, Wanted to thank you for the videos. Me and my girls had a family reunion on Lake of the Ozarks last july....used your methods and had a GREAT time hammering the crappie.
Prayers for your friend Mike. Thanks so much for taking the time to shoot and edit these videos. I always learn something new from watching. Really appreciate the efforts.
Glad to see you back Mike, always enjoy your videos, I haven't been to Lake of Ozarks since we bought our boat there in 2009. Keep up the fishing and the great videos.
Really glad to see you putting out some more videos. I enjoy watching them and learning more about these techniques. Can't wait to see the video on the planer boards. Praying for your friend to get well soon. God bless.
Another great video! Was planning on being down in the Gravois with my son starting tomorrow but our housing fell through. Gonna head down to Cedar Lake in SO IL and explore a new lake. Keep the videos coming!
My hat is off to you sir. For letting the bigger fish that have not layed there eggs yet go. Not many people care about the resource. I talked to a guy one day that said he caught a 10lb bass and he said that the devil was on one shoulder and the lord was on the other. The lord saying let the fish live and reproduce and the devil on the other side saying keep it so you can show it off and eat it. He said the devil won. You know as well as l do that a fish that old is not good to eat. He said he was catching 14 inchers all day which are legal good size fish to eat. Its a shame he killed that big one. He probably kept all of the other ones he caught to. Didnt seem like the honest type. Your friend will be in my prayers.
Hey Mike do a video on how to turn your boat while your line lining. I have seen your videos and went from spider rigging to line line trolling. However when I have the lines out I am having trouble turning the boat. My lines get twisted, I am not sure if I am turning to slow or to fast; or not doing a long enough sweeping turn. Would you please do a video on how your doing turns without getting your lines twisted up.
Great video. Your earlier video on LiveScope was the trip wire for my commitment. Would appreciate some more LiveScope video and settings? Dennis on Lake Austin.
Been wanting to learn to do that I'm going to try it this year thanks so much for a crime to teach us how to catch fish the easy way love it love the show keep up the great videos Thanks once again for all the tips keep up the great work love it
Another great video Mike. I enjoy ever one of them. I watch each one of them over and over. I Started pulling crank baits myself last year, "a lot of fun". I did'nt know that you started pulling cranks this early in the year. Keep those videos comeing Mlike !
Mike My wife and I enjoy your videos, and we want to thank you for answering the question about the amount of poles you can use on lake of the Ozarks, we also troll and sometimes have as many as eight poles out, which has been a source of debate with some of our friends that say we are using to many poles, hopefully this will clear this issue up. Our thoughts and prayers are with your fishing buddy and hope for the best for him. We fish mostly the glaze arm of the lake and we we wondering which arm of the lake you fish on, the scenery there is gorgeous.
Glad I could clear up the question about the number of poles. Most of my crappie trolling videos were shot on the lower lake area below the 14 mm or in the Gravois. I have done some trolling in the Glaze and caught a lot of fish there. Thanks for watching.
this is awesome i have a place as well at LOZ im at the 31 right where the big niangua starts. I dont recognize where this is at will you share the location?
Mike, I would love to see some shots of your Side Imaging with crappie on the screen in future videos. I'm not sure what suspended crappie look like on the side imaging screen. I fish Truman Lake, and we've got high water right now, but I hope I can find some crappie using your trolling methods.
nice video.....I also use the Bandit lures.....was just wondering how you get the 300 to run 18 to 20 feet deep.....on the manufactures web site they say the 300 runs 8 to 12 feet.....do you get the extra depth through speed in the boat or lead on the line.....or is the manufacturer putting out incorrect info.....just curious....
@@MikeBakerVideos I've had the opposite experience I live in Florida where most lakes are on average 15 ft. and the 300's don't ever hit bottom....thank's for the comeback......tight lines to you...
Always enjoy your videos. Informative and entertaining. You mentioned having ordered a Livescope for this boat. As I recall in a previous video, you purchased a Garmin Echomap 93SV (9 inch screen) at Bass Pro when it was marked down as part of spring fishing promotion - about $600 I think. Do you mind sharing what unit, price, and where you are purchasing the Garmin unit? Transducer price appear to be the same everywhere, but sometimes unit price(s) vary. Just wondering if you found a good deal on unit. Will lift your friend up in prayer. Thanks for sharing.
Mr. Baker I love trolling for crappie after having watched your videos I was wondering If you had any videos or would make a video on turning when trolling so as not to twist lines up and cause all kinds of issues any info would be appreciated my well wishes to your fishing partner hoping for a good recovery
Make a wide gradual turn. Speeding up in the turn helps also. If you don't have enough room for a wide turn reel in, make your turn and throw them out again.
Great info in your videos. Can you catch just black Crappie on crank baits. The lake i fish is predominately black crappie. Any advice as to best ways to catch them ,thanks. Praying for your partner
Mike do you guide? If you do I would love to come up and shoot a video and catch some fish with you! I wanted to come to the Crappie Masters and fish with my buddy at Lake of the Ozarks, but I was working that weekend. Sorry to hear about your fishing partner and I hope is doing good! Tight lines my friend!
Anywhere Bandits are sold or on line. Try Bass Pro. I just pick them up at my favorite local tackle store, Tombstone Tackle here in Columbia, Mo. 573-874-2277.

Do you stop trolling when you catch a fish or continue trolling?
Mike, in one of your Crappie trolling videos, you had a stringer I believe with 15 clips to keep fish in your livewell and for ease of removal. Can you share where you got that or did you custom make it yourself. I thought it was a great idea to keep limits separate and especially for removal

Hell Mike, thanks for all the great videos. Question: how long does your trolling motor last when you go trolling for crappie? Can you talk about this some? Thanks again! Keep up the great work!
Mike, Do you run a 36v 100+lb trolling motor? How long are you able to troll (average/best guess) at 1.4 to 1.6 mph? Looking to upgrade my system. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
@@MikeBakerVideos I understand that with 6 to 8 poles out. I've been trolling with crankbaits for 30 years. I usually just use 3 so not as bad for me to reel in and try to retrieve mine.
Since you mentioned that you assure us that you are following the law, I figured I would point out that keeping a foul hooked fish is against the Missouri Wildlife Code. Not that I care, but not many people know that.
@@justinspurrier4852 but isn’t this guy fishing in Missouri? I just looked up the regulations in Missouri and it says any foul hooked fish need to be released back to the water immediately.
He may be and that may be true, this video is 5 years old so the regulations may have been different then. The way I see it is that fish bit that lure and one hook stuck to his gill plate and the other came out of it's mouth. It's a argument that IV seen game Wardens ignore because the fish bit it. Now if it was hooked in the belly I'd see why they'd question it
It is not truly foul hooked if it has a hook in the mouth. I refer to a foul hooked fish if it also has a treble in its side, causing it to come in sideways.
