what a beautiful rendition of a beautiful song. the luscious full chords on the harp, and the lyrical voice, you made my evening Annette. naturally Delia sang manies the song, in her day, her style having been inspired by travelling nomads drawn to her fathers generocity, camped on her father's lands, delia as a schoolgirl delighted in, and thri'ved, and prospered, in the many songs she obsorbed from the gentle easy timeless ways of the travelling people who camped upon her father's land, he, having made a few bob, and re-locating back home with the ways and means to acquire a fine house and land.
my favourite songs of Delia have to be, well, of course, after much reflection, the cailin deas, which tells the tail o, a sad and lonely girl with golden hair, the restless unsettled daughter of Brian of clontarf, and then a song she sang in the greenwood, upon the death of her own dear beloved husband, its a song as old as tine itself, luke kelly had something similar, the unquite grave, a fine song in its own right, sharing the same time honoured old story, of the lover greeving for his slash her loss, but with delia, after the loss of her own deerly beloved husband, her performance, her chosing the song, and her plaintiff keening for her lost love, allows this song in my humble opinion at least, to be cherished dearly by all who know and love her the best
