When I convert planned order to production order i face an error "No default value maintained for op.generation for order type " please help

if there is requirement from 2 production order and stock is present for only 1 order, then for second order system will give the missing part on availability check run. Now if planner decide to take second order on priority and start production immidiatly then system should allocate stock to this order and should not give material shortage for 2nd order instead it should give missing part for 1st order now
What to do in such scenario?

Normally, you will get this if you didn't maintain BOM, ROUTING or PV. Check the validity Data of these master data with production start date
