It is completely irrelevant, it doesn’t matter where they get the money, what matters is what you do is haram or not to get the money.
How is life insurance (even though not riba-based) not haram? Is it not gambling when a father pays 50 dollars a month so that, on his death, his family gets a payout of a hundred thousand dollars? When you put in a little with the hope of receiving a lot more is it not the same as buying a lottery ticket?

According to my understanding, Insurance companies may or may not have haram source of income and it is owner who is responsible for that. Insurance itself may not haram. For example, I have car insurance. I am not taking any ribha. Besides, It is not same as gamble because, in case of accdent, I am asured to get that financial help.
