That's how it ends, the ending is pretty mediocre to be honest...The end is like the generic 3rd act of every Marvel movie ever and oh all the past variations of the titan shifters make an appearance..7/10

Nice comment but Eren doesn't really care much about paradis. If paradis survives as long as his friends are alive its fine, he doesn't care about what will happen to the island after his friends have grown old and died. He only cares about his friends. On top of that his main goal is not to protect paradis but to free ymir, end the titan curse and also to flatten the entire world to finally see the world that he envisioned in his mind after reading armin's book and achieve what he perceives as freedom.

I find it very interesting that many parts of the song, especially after 3:34, use some major chord progressions despite the song being written in a minor key. It shows Eren's will to keep moving forward even through the atrocities he has committed. The fact that this song captures that aspect of the show makes this song a true masterpiece. Chills.

The more I listen to Kohta Yamamoto, the more I see that he's using much more synth and effect to create such ambience and literally put a bang instead of using melodious flowing notes. While Hiroyuki Sawano uses more melodious strings and brings the mood completely. To put it simply, Kohta Yamamoto is Fire (for the effects and explosive brass and choir) and Hiroyuki Sawano is Water (for the soothing, flowing melody, strings, and lyrical). Both of them have their own significant style and both of them are one of the most epic composers in anime ost. Incomparable, they're great as they are. Attack on Titan surely is being handled by these mad composers x"D

it's like hearing something out of a Souls game; it's dark, gritty, foreboding, and imparts a perfect feeling of hopelessness. that, plus the chorus of oooOOOOOOOOOOOOooo's and indistinguishable chanting really sell the "this is how fucked the world is" kind of feel. i fuckin dig it.

This OST really emphasizes what the Rumbling truly is: an apocalypse no other character in AoT could have ever had the will to conduct besides Eren himself
The terror that can be wrought from our love to those closest to us and our indifference to everything that isnt them is made manifest in The Rumbling.
Not just AOT, but any TV show.

I’m glad they decided to make a song specifically for this moment. I’ll admit I was nervous as to how they would actually do, but now I know that all my worrying was for nothing. This fits the beginning of the Rumbling PERFECTLY.

Mappa did an outstanding job with the 3D colossal titans. I was wondering if the 3D versions would stand out too much but they blend in perfectly
Not just the colossal titans, but all of them. They really stepped up their game with the CGI in part 2.

Whenever Eren use to transform, the music had an upbeat tempo to it and it made you feel like what he was fighting for was righteous. But this here… this let you know there’s no going back. Now he’s the oppressor; bringing death and destruction.
I swear, the music in AoT never sounded like anime music. Their OSTs sound like something off of a movie or dark fantasy video game, like Bloodborne or Dark Souls.
Everything about this score is beautifully terrifying.

I'm really glad they didn't reuse one of the older OSTs and made their own unique track for the beginning of the Rumbling. This is just perfect. It really captures the horror and dread that's coming.
In a decade or so, Everyone shall look back at this historic moment and study it. I'll never be able to experience this the way I did the first time. The composer absolutely nailed it.

They are the masterpieces of the legendary Japanese colossal series musicians, it's a big loss if the famous company doesn't choose them
To be fair, Yuki Hayashi is better than Kohta Yamamoto and is the second best producer only behind Hiroyuki Sawano.
Although Khota is getting good he's still got a long line of people between him and Sawano.
Notable mentions like Yuki Hayashi,Yuki Kajiura,Asami Tachibana[falling off quick though],Shiro Saigasu,Yasuharu Takanashi etc.
Khota is still in a phase of discovering his sound while adapting what he learnt from Sawano even now.
If you listen to any of the albums he has worked on besides the couple of bangers, Majority of his music is pretty meh and forgettable. I'm not hating but I'm just saying he still has ways to go before he catches up to the rest of the squad
I... I really wish I could explain the literal 50+ reasons why this is my all time favorite scene in anything. I don't even watch Anime outside of AOT.
Just, the sheer BRILLIANCE of Eren beginning the rumbling. He didn't turn into the villain at this point: NOTHING changed about him. He was always this way. He was always bloodthirsty, filled with rage and hatred, willingly to risk his very existence in the name of revenge, but tamed by his love for his friends and family.
We were more than happy to let him be so filled with evil and violence when he was on our side. It isn't until we see JUST how merciless he is, that we snap to our senses and realize what a hate filled exterminator he is.
...And I wouldn't have it any other way!

Most anime are lackluster in terms of score, writing and direction. But Attack on Titan has demonstrated to show cinematic quality, the kind of terror and grandiosity you wouldn't find in any other anime. The score will always be what I come back to, and I can't express how grateful I am that someone put this much effort into this shonen. They didn't have to, and yet they did.
I'm a huge fan of cinematic soundtracks, with the likes of Hans Zimmer being considered the absolute best and most versatile film composer, and placing him as a point of reference, I can safely say that he would be impressed with Kohta Yamamoto.
