I used to own an M3, it was a beast. You can actually mount two M3 modules on the 88 key version. It would fit perfectly, too. Korg really had something with this. I think on the 73 key you could mount a Radias rack mount next to the module and it got perfectly, too.
what would be the point of mounting 2? One of these things is enough of a pain in the ass imo XD I mean I love what it can do, it's extremely versatile, but when I bought mine about 5 years back it already felt quite dated. The user interface is where the problems lie...
I've taken my second M3 and removed the ends and trying to figure out how to mount these like you have in the video - without any marks or holes. I am thinking of extending the bracket on the rear panel (an aluminum L bracket) by removing the bracket and adding a custom one from wood, which you will not see. This will allow the top M3 to cradle securely to the bottom M3. Secondly, the rear swivel brackets (2) will be installed onto the T-slot railing to the back of the top M3 as the bottom one is already secured that way. Current config: M3 88 keyboard with the Radias module mounted with brackets on the left side. A forty-one key Radias keyboard is on my second tier. I removed the Radias from its keyboard and instead, installed the M3 on it. This means where the M3 module would be setting on the 88 keyboard hinged bracket, I have the Radias forty one keyboard with the M3 setting on that keyboard using the On Stage 2-tier stand. I do not like splitting the keyboard so I use a dedicated keyboard for the other hand. I removed the end caps of the second M3 to check if it would make sense to secure from the ends and I say - not a good idea. So where the "L" bracket is on the rear plate, will be the newly configured lock to secure the M3 so it does not move or scratch the bottom M3. I thought of mounting the first and second M3 side by side on the 88 keyboard, but then I would lose having my second keyboard close to me.
How best to mount 2 of these, I would rather have them like you see, mounted vertically. Will possibly be removing the end caps the fabricating a mounting system.
I see you are using angled 1/4 inch plugs, you sure need these if you are going to stack them. Is there not an expression X/Y pad you can either MIDIi or USB in instead of using the touchscreen?
Hi - the combi's are 1/2 own creations together with own karma setups - important the configuration of the x-y touchscreen parameters. Imagine each of the 16 sounds in one M3-Module can have complete different multiple CC's for tweaking.
can you explain to me how I would do this with an m3 and a radias? There is one cable connecting the radias to the keyboard itself, but how do I get it to communicate with the m3 module? Do I run them separately and put through a mixer? I want to use the usb b on the m3 to connect to my computer but have a radias involved as well and I've no idea what to do lol
Hi, each M3 in my setup has a Radias-Board inside itself! So no extra wiring. If you have an external Radias Synth maybe use a USB-throu box or go directly from M3-MIDI-Out to Radias MIDI-IN - separate from M3-USB. Inside M3 you can route USB midi-in channels to midi out jack for Radias.
TheGreatUtopiaCat ...I use the keyboard control cable from the M3 to the RadiusM, and line in the audio sigal from the Radius into the M3 (by creating a dedicated patch just the the Radius inside the M3); if you then USB the M3 to the computer, I think it should pick up everything audio and MIDI from the M3.
Because of your demo, I went out and purchase one, and the display did not work and I replaced it. I am so impressed with it I am going to by another. I wanted to by a Iron is but I heard Korg is beginning to phase them out and a new work station is coming. But Karma is light years of ahead of the new keyboards of today. I am looking at the new fantom. Your M3 can be fixed!
@@bobcatt2294 it is the switching powersuppy inside the module - a external module mounted inside. so out of two i made one M3 work ok now. In the video the upper M3-module ist not mounted fix on top. Upper MIDI-in for sync.
the Nordsynths i think are good for conventional sounds - different to the possibilities of M3 or Montage f.e. It depends on the kind of music you wanna make...
Beautiful demo thx a lot for playing such dreamy sounds and exposing this beautiful machine.

wow, the 2 of them look great together. nice soundscape as well
Awesome demo! I love the vibe
genius. i love the sound of the m3 and you know how to get things going.

Seeing is believing show us!
I just set the 2. module on top - only fixed with wooden board behind
@@johndean5860 My Apologies, I missed this one. Will do.
@@bobcatt2294 you're just hallucinating
great performance of ambient on korg m3 good work thanks for sharing
Fantastic ambient jam!

Brilliant! 😍🎹👍
Subscribed, please more textures like this
Thanks! - as soon as one of the touchscreens is replaced. This is now the second screen which had position-failures and has to be replaced...
Great soundscapes! The M3 is maybe a bit underrated for this sort of thing? I really like what you do with it.
Beautiful...!
Where to purchase second m3 mounting accessory?

When I switch tracks in M3M, only the first track is played in the sequencer. Why?
Love it!

nice sounds like aeon sundial type stuff
How is the audio routed? two pairs of stereo outs going where?
two stereo lines into my Behringer mixer. Then recorded audio with my little fieldrecorder
Awesome!!!!
very nice , big like
Que texturas más bellas...
Love this I wish I had the money for a second module
Great ! which combis did you use?

Been best if Korg had a dedicated XY pad.
❤❤
Just wonderful!! are the 2 x M3's 'aware' of each other at all (Midi etc) or running standalone?
Scuba Brit Thanks! The lower M3 is Master, the upper Slave on MIDI. Upper M3 gets only the keystrokes from lower.

Magnifylight how do you like the exb radias cards? Especially for ambient type music compared to techno

nice!
Q: How you made em stand one above another?
One is just a rack.
hedegaard8 what rack is it? thanks!
Hello, no rack, the lower M3 is inside the keyboard, the upper is hold by the next table behind, if modules are angled, the top can sit on the lower.
miss a bass part who has some like moog bass.
This is very very nice!
how do you connect the two m3? is that a special feature
Ashley Whiteman you can see they're MIDI connected.
What's the device on the right?
It's a Korg Electribe 2
Do u still have both M3s
Yes have still both, but one has defect display and power supply
at the moment i work mainly with the MODX6 on such ambients...

You still have this M3?
yes, still have both, but one is out of order in powersupply and touchscreen
@@Magnifylight That sounds like a main board capacitor issue. You still have that one?

custom patch?
Hello and thank You all for the positive comments!
I use customized patches which are expensive in programming cause of the XY-Pad-parameters and the 8 karma-modules in use.
Magnifylight awesome. Do you need one more m3 module. I'm selling on of mine :)
sell it to me please
Hi i have a M3. i saw a nord electro 2 rack. is it worth to get the nord rack even i have the m3?
