- My apologies for the delay but here's to closing the loop on the welder giveaways. Thanks to everyone who participated and congrats again to the winners!
Dave's video starts at 4:05
Doug's starts at 6:17
My video starts at 0:00 Наука
I indeed did not participate, and I appreciate the shoutout. I know you said everyone who didn't participate, but let's be honest, we all know you were speaking specifically to me.
In 200 years they will pinpoint this comment as the birth of the new world region.
No no he was talking to me.... What with my 3 welders (1 literally fell off the back of a guys truck and he wasn't slowing down no matter my honking and light flashing)I have already it just wouldn't have been fair to the other guys
@@leoncarpenter958 Damn, I need to drive behind trucks more often!
😮
@@Gu1tarZer0 yep he did a fast left turn into my lane while I was at the light. He'd left his Lincoln 140 WELD-PAK on the cross tool box.... Tragic. It's a bit bent but functional.
2:32 Old Tony, your pliers are glitching in and out of reality. Better have them checked and oiled before they glitch out together with whatever you are holding with them.
Happened to me once and I lost two months worth of work.
Then @2:53 it phased back out of existence. Then @3:18 came back. Cool.
Love the tester - pencil ✏️ changes also.
I'm loving these little ninja edits and effects, especially when they're not topical(like the cuts where he touches something and it's magically machined, those are topical because it's part of what he's talking about). Really smashes that oddly satisfying button.
I laughed so hard when I spotted them. 😂
I feel like all the time travel lathe shenanigans are starting to destabilize the space-time in his shop. He may want to look into cleaning that up before his sine bars start shifting to cosine and his videos wind up with more tangents than usual.
same thing happened to my 10mm socket while I was tightening a bolt. Still haven't gotten it back
The people who won the welders seem really nice and down to earth. Awesome.
Doug and Dave did so good, great winners
I don't trust a guy who reads the manual first. That's all I'm sayin'. Dave!
One might be tempted to say "Well Grounded"!
Your wifes brothers are great guys.
And loaded!
Dave even matches Tony's humor and style!
I was thinking the same thing! It almost felt like he had just filmed a bunch and let Tony stitch it all together. Had me rolling with the rocket engine at the end of the list of "small projects." XD
You are what you eat. 😉
@@AristophMarloque Not just any old rocket engine, but a *nuclear thermal rocket* lol!
It's call 'rub off' and it's terminal.
You heard him, he's been brainwashed for several years.
I'd appreciate you revising this video. You mentioned you cared about my goldfish. His name was Jim and he's dead now due to lack of a TOT welder...
Key, so sorry for your loss.
Some people (Tony) don’t foster a Mr Limpett like appreciation for our deep water friends.
As a true believer in karma, we can only hope that Tony learns in his next life, as a plankton, that what goes around comes around. This is especially true on Ferris Wheel. 😮😊
@@Bob3519… your response deserves to be pinned by ToT. 😂
Recipients passed the vibe check, especially Mr. Dave
Even in a little vid like this we get a few video magic tricks. Love ya Tony.
Smooth jump cuts. Lot of effort in this and I see it is appreciated.
Dave if you’re reading this I highly recommend you use wheelchair wheels on your welder cart. It brings a smile to my face every time I roll my welder over a pile of rolled up air hose and imagine some other sap somewhere stuck on a penny.
clever
Of course, I do feel kinda bad for the poor guy whose wheelchair you swapped out your welder-cart wheels with. You should watch your back, that guy will catch up to you someday. If he ever gets past that penny.
@@mrimmortal1579ok, you win comment of the week.
😂 thank you for that.
Congratulations to the Mrs. on the new MIG & TIG!
For a moment I thought TOT had gone into politics. But then he shows integrity and there were genuine winners! 😉
I am both disappointed and relieved that i didn't win. Those guys seem like they will put the welders to better use than i would have.
I already have a MIG and a TIG welder. All I do is stick weld today too. I got tired of chasing around for gas bottles.
I will never get tired of the guy in the background answering your questions bit.
I miss cricket sound already...
plus-one. The timing is perfect.
ToT's live studio audience!
This is what they call "giving back to the community" Nice one, TOT!
I got distracted with the vise grips disappearing and the pics pencil / pencil switches.
Always an instant click when a new video is released!
I always have to watch the video twice, once to pick up on all the Easter eggs, and the second time to actually pick up what Tony is putting down
The quantum fluctuations happening in your shop are absolutely fantastic.
The flux capacitor has been on the fritz lately.
Okay so I'm not seeing things lol
@@jasonyesmarc309
Uhhh, no… you’re definitely more-or-less somewhat totally-ish seeing something, maybe for sure! It’s just that we’re almost all a little bit 82% completely seeing it too. I think.
@@jasonyesmarc309 Reminds me of a bit from the Duck Tales cartoon.
"You are seeing things"
"Oh, my golly goodness yes I am most defiantly seeing things. I am seeing a floating island."
Anyone else remember that scene?
I'm so glad the new hightech microphones allow us to finally hear Tony's inner voices. Explains so many things..
What!? 6 months have passed like 6 days...
no, it felt like ahahhgahaggghg to me🤷♂
Strange it was just 6 weeks for me...
Typical this old tony time travel shenanigans
Yes, 2023 is really flying by!
Time just flies by when you're in a coma...
The winners should put some clear coat on the autographs to keep them nice and pristine for future generations. 😁
My 1st thought !
Thank you for posting !
Was sitting here wondering what clear coat I would use ,,
( tape them off and spray 3 coats ,, )
@@als1023 awesome!
Can't help with the type of clear coat. As I hardly know anything about painting. But I would suggest to try some test pieces with (preferably) text written with the same kind of marker before doing it on the real thing.😁
Bro, it is so awesome that both winners have the same "Tony Energy". You guys came from the same funny chill craftsman mold.🤣🤣🤣
As one of the overseas Subscribers who didn't enter the competition, congratulations to the winners. But Tony, if we were allowed to enter, and you did end up going to jail, think of all the benefits. Meet many new, possible subscribers ( with time to watch your old episodes) lots of steel bars to weld....🤣 cheers from Australia 🇦🇺 🦘
Can't click fast enough for this old tony!
*@**4:25** From Dave's garage I'll say, welcome to the world of metal! (- another former thirty year woodworker)*
The world has gone from nice folks doing nice things for nice people, to greedy people wanting to take advantage of us. It’s very sad. Folks like Tony and his recipients of the prizes give me hope for the future. Just one word, Thankyou. ❤️❤️
Welding IS all about making beautiful connections...
Glad to hear that the welders got a good home to some very deserving contestants. Congratulations to those who won, and thanks Tony for the informative and entertaining videos!
Good on ya for doing these. Your channel has been a wicked resource for me and a lot of other apprentices in the industrial world. Lots of us use your videos to learn what our j mans either won't or can't teach us. You're an amazing resource and bless ya for putting in the time.
Love seeing the videos from the winners, so wholesome and I'm glad some nice gents got the welders.
I appreciate the shout-out for not participating. Thanks for the update Tony, helps a lot!
Discovering your channel has been the best thing that happened to me on RUclips. I've watched some of your videos multiple times because they are just that good. You are the only creator I've turned on notifications for. Keep up the amazing work!
Agree! Great content 🙌
It's the little details that really sets you above, you didn't have to do the funny phasing in and out pliers or the changing carpenters pencil... And that's what makes it amusing and helps it interesting.
Thank you and HTP for facilitating this giveaway. I didn't enter, but I know how much it can change someone's life to get something that would have been a struggle to acquire. Especially something as useful as a welder. Warms my heart, sir.
It always makes my day when you drop a new video! Thanks again for the amazing work you do entertaining thousands everyday!
I watched the give-away...too much out of my depth (always wanted and try it), didn't enter out of respect to those who would. I am really glad they went to genuine welders. Great ending to a successful give-away, kudos Tony!
Wait, did I see a pair of clamp'n'hide vise grips?
Time travel strikes again.
I'm glad for the winners. They seem genuinely enthusiastic about using those welders. Tony, your channel is a unique and wholesome mix of information and entertainment. Thanks for all the effort that must go into your content. I won't speak for others, though I think they would agree, we wish you the best and really hope for more videos soon.
The comment section is always entertaining on TOT videos. Thanks guys! ❤
Maybe I'm too much of a pessimist but totally wasn't expecting both winners to turn out to be great recipients like this. Thanks for putting all the time and effort into the giveaway!
As much as I wanted winning one of TOT's welders, I respected his wishes about who should enter the contest. I am so glad that the two machines ended up in good homes and hands.
This is why I love this channels and it's subscribers. We are and good bunch, aren't we?
Thistle Tony seems like an awesome guy. This is heartwarming. Thank you for the positivity in my day.
Thanks very much and congratulations to the very fine gents that won the welders. I would have loved to have a welder, but living in Germany I thought that the shipping would cost as much as the welders, so I didn't take part. Thanks for another enjoyable video Tony, Dave and Doug.
You are one of the best Tony thank you for giving back and congratulations to the winners yall seem like great people and deserve them.
Bravo Tony. Congratulations to the recipients of the welders.
Best Wishes to everyone.
Insanely endaring.
Congratulations to both! What an incredibly community :-)
So happy to have you back!
That was lovely. Thanks for shareing, Tony.
That clamp coming in and out of existence... 😂
This video is totally faked. Did you see the CGI vice grips?
That clamp remains stationary in its own dimensional plane throughout the entirety of the video. It’s everything else, including us, that is fading in and out of _its_ reality!
@@mrimmortal1579 🤣👍
Bless you all.
I'm pleased to hear from the winners, and equally pleased, in hindsight, not to have won... I got myself a cracker box stick machine, and I'm glad for the portability, ease of use, and to finally learn SMAW. Congratulations to Dave and Doug; I can't imagine better recipients. Happy welding!
Like your winner said it makes my day when a new video pops up. I like your style and really enjoy them. That was a generous gesture. Best wishes from the uk
It's so simple and dumb, but I love the off screen "what?" bit
Fully enjoyed the magic in this video. Congrats to the winners!
Heck I'd have entered just to get the call from the old Tony himself, you know, shop talk and time travel gossip etc. Joking aside - great to see the two welders have found new homes!
Hey, just because it didn't happen then doesn't mean it could happen then sometimes later.
TOT is a stand up guy. And me favorite channel on RUclips. Thanks for sharing GW
Everyone’s a winner when you click on a ToT vid. Cheers man.
Thanks Tony. Ever since I watched all of your HTP Tig videos, I had been lusting after the water cooled 221. My 1962 Hobart finally gave up and I was determined to replace it with an outfit just like you had because I was convinced it was the best. I didn't enter the contest because I was blessed to find one on Craig's list. Mine actually has a fancy controller that adjust the amperage according to how hard you press your finger on a little rubber spot on the handle. I'm happy for the winners.
Your channel inspired me to get into industry fresh out of high school, and after a few years of climbing ladders and picking up skills, I was able to pay for my schoolin' out of pocket. Thanks OldTony!
This is really nice to see. Thank you so much for sharing this.
Dave, agreed it makes our day when a new video drops
I love it, the whole thing. Great videos from the winners! Really great! Congrats to them too! 😊
Congratulations to the winners!!! It's cool to see these gentlemen so happy! I am going to get one of my own in the years coming now that i have both space and time.
Please don't mess about with our space and time, I'm just getting used to it.
I'm a sucker for a happy ending! Congrats to the winners. Very kind of ToT and HTP do such a good deed!
I appreciate your recognizing the folks who perhaps craved having a welder, but decided not to enter. I've always wanted to be able to mash two pieces of metal together and make then one, especially aluminum. So, I watched your videos and downloaded the manuals and read them. Then I dithered making up my mind. I figured out that TIG looks like it takes a lot of practice with eye, hand, and foot coordination, so MIG would have been my choice.
But, in the end I didn't enter because, in part, I realized that at this stage of my life it was something that would end up taking space and collecting dust more than it would get used in my shop/garage and that wouldn't be fair to those would really put them to use.
I made a post on the video where talked about the close of contest which got a heart from you and that, well that warmed my heart. Thanks for the great videos. Those of us that can't do get to live a little vicariously through you.
Congrats you guys, nice to see you.
I bought the HTP Invertig welder a few years back based on Tony's tig talk video. I got the water-cooled version. It's worked out great for me.
Well done!! The winners look pretty excited and rightfully so! I love my HTP Invertig 221! The customer support at HTP is absolutely the best anywhere in my opinion!
Congrats to the winners. Love your videos and have been following for ages.
The switches and the fade were great.
Shout out to Doug and Dave who put the effort into a little video and showed off the machine and what they’d do with it. I’m delighted 2 genuine guys won it and will make use of two fantastic machines!
Speaking from your non participating non-USA fan base (!), great to see the welders going to welders. V generous of you and the company.
It really is genuinely exciting when I see that Tony has dropped a video.
Thanks for the update. I'd kind of forgotten about it. I'm one of the 'didn't enter' folks because I don't feel my welding needs are worthy. But I thought it was cool you were doing it. Also - fun to see your face for once (first time for me).
(Just an fyi, but neither of the gentlemen seen in this video are Old Tony. This Old Tony is actually a pair of sentient shirt sleeves, who operate a pair of robotic human hands in order to make these videos and share his message with the world.)
Dude bought a welder when he was 14, that shit doesn't happen today.
Yea. I ended up just buying my 14 yo his welder.
It really doesn't. But to be fair to young people, they aren't exposed to this stuff at all. Let alone encouraged. Someone along the way decided that working with your hands is supposed to be frowned upon and the only objective of education is getting kids a comfy desk job, anything else is a failure. I know, I got stern talking to many times about 'wasting my potential' and 'you can do better' when I decided to go to trade school. Disappointing everyone was my step 1 to get into trades, and now that I'm in, I don't regret it.
@@michaelmechex I’ve accomplished step one. How do I proceed?
Once upon a time, people could buy a _house_ when they were 34.
@@RFC3514 I bought a condo at 24. It was unfinished, 800 sf, $29,000. I was an auto mechanic at that time, 1988. I remember needing a disc grinder around 1985, bought one from Sears at $150.00, it was a major purchase.
It's the little things that make a difference, like the fading vice grips at 2:50, keep up the great work!
That Old Tony has really put in some clutch performances these past few videos. Love to hear it.
Thanks, Tony. I did not enter, because I have welders, which are great, so others would benefit more. Congratulations to the winners, participants and Tony for excellent content.
To the people that won the welders providing you actually are people
Congratulations
As a professional welder with a bunch of welders at work and at home I did not enter the contest but I have used HTP products And they make really nice welding machines enjoy
*_Congratulations to the Winners!_* . . . this was a wonderful video. Thank you.
I had completely forgotten about this giveaway, and In the meantime i went out and bought a multi-process welder to learn on. So I'm glad that someone without a welder ended up with them.
Congratz Doug and Dave, and excellent work on the videos to both of you! :)
Already have both machines so did not enter. Tony, you truly are a great man, thank you for all your knowledge, humor and inspiration. Also, I bet you do look like Ed McMahon.
Wow... I waz in wonder....
Happy welds bois...
Much love to u n yours Tony...
HTP don't shop to me...
"See, I told you it came." "Yes!" Is my new delivery notification. Thanks Tony
I’m just glad we finally won something we never win anything. We are just over joyed. Thank you for your content.
Thanks for the update,
Baller as usual Tony, Grats to the winners.
Truly wholesome content
Congrats to Dave & Doug, well done guys.
I appreciate you Tony..
Ahh this giveaway. I remember this one. I'm happy to see the update.
This is the best Christmas video I have ever seen.
Quite literally you are a RUclips legend!!,
Both winners could not be more perfect. Amazing that both of the giveaways found their way to people that will use and appreciate them. I didn't sign up because I don't weld. 😂
Old Tony you and much younger and more attractive Mrs Tony are OK! You always bring a smile to my face. I do remember that Mrs Tony helped you out a lot with the give away Every one has busy lives, especially when you have kids. So I know that it tough to find time. Thanks to everyone who contributed to the give away and everyone who contributes to you videos!
Congrats gentlemen, looks like both welders went to good homes.
What a lovely feel-good vid. As an ineligible right-pondian (thanks for the explanation as to why!) it's great to see these machines with their new owners.
Seems like you found some worthy winners!
This is just like when two already wealthy people both hit the multimillion dollar jackpot. Probably isn't fair.
Congrats guys. Looks like the welders found good homes.
Man that's awesome! I love that Dave's humor is the same. He should have a youtube channel.
Glad they got good homes!! Congratulations!!
Like Doug my first welder was one of those Craftsman buzz box arc welders. I made a lot of stuff with that one and I still have it and it works, though it is not as pleasant to use as my new welder. I didn't get that manual with my old Sears welder though as I bought it for $50 at a flea market second hand more than 30 years ago. Hopefully those guys get a lot of use out of those welders.
Dang it! Now you got me thinking about TIG welders and accessories. I try to keep those welding urges suppressed by watching rope splicing videos and the other world of mystic rope knot making. 😉
Woot...! The Craftsman 'Buzz Box', I still have mine, also bought when a kid...
