The problem is the stock. The barreled action with barrel nut is actually good. But the stock has no bedding. There is a gap in the rear action screw guide and you cannot get enough torque. And the removable plastic mag well is used as a shim, allowing more movement. Put this in any bedded wood or composite stock or a chassis like Oryx or anything from MDT and it will be a 1 MOA rifle for 3 shots, which is all you need from a hunting rifle. But doing that takes it out of the "budget" budget.
More or less going with best budget rifle out the box with floated barrel ofc but for the price point I’d feel much better about a savage axis or a new ruger at about the same price point but they both hold a steady 1 moa group out the box still take my cz over the whole group though
Try 150 or 160 grain projectiles and see how it shoots Also you can get the trigger pull down to 2.6 lbs IT IS ADJUSTABLE! Remington CORE LOKT IS THE BEST ammo!!!!! aLSO HOW MANY ROUNDS HAVE YOU SHOT DOWN THE BARREL?
I also haven't had luck with any gun shooting Remington Core Lokt ammo and holding a good group. Had a ruger m77 in a 260 and HATED the thing when I was shooting Core Lokt, had a friend hand load me some ammo and that thing shot very very well.
@@andrewwadel92 only luck I’ve actually had with them is a old savage 110 270 holds a pretty constant 3/4 moa group this gun has since done trash with just about everything
@@Willitshoot2003 copy that, I had a savage 110 in 270 also . Best budget gun I ever owned. It loved the federal 130 grain pills. My howa 1500 I need to try some other stuff with because either the barrel is about shot, or it plain doesn't like the federals
My Mossberg 308 sucks on second barrel still won't shoot have tried shit ton of different ammo best so far believe it or not was Remington core lock tipped 180 grain but still only about 3" groups

This gun likes medium grain...165 or 168.
Ended up with 168 match kings did pretty fair for what it is
Try the 168 gr federal. Haven’t met a 308 that doesn’t like them.
Ended up going gold metal match king 168 did pretty well up til around 260yards or so
you should watch whoo tee whoo's new video on mossberg 7mm prc,. 1/2 in or better groups shooting 7mm prc predator

I’ve tried dozens of rounds for it best I’ve found have shot barely a 2 inch group at 100
@@Willitshoot2003 I am at a loss with the rifle not sure if it's worth building off the Mossberg action? But not sure what else to do can sell it
Wanna sell that truck
Boutta put for sale this month
