      I mean from noobs to the above average players the puyo player always has the advantage. While only at the extremely high level everything is _considered_ equal. Just switching to puyo was enough for me to beat players that I could never beat at tetris. So in this mostly newb tourney, playing puyo was kinda like a cheat code.

    I hope that in the next tournament this difference in advantage between Puyo and Tetris will be adjusted, in this tournament I think the only ones that Tetris beat Puyo were the matches Korone x Polka, Koyori x Nene and Okayu x Sora and even then they were all very hard victories.

    • @ccg2301
      @ccg2301 Год назад +4

      Believe it or not Puyo2 is in the disadvantage when matching against Tetris. I was also curious if why this game feels unbalanced, so I watched some high level matches and turns out Tetris is the dominant game between the two. Depending on the skills of the Tetris player they can easily blitz the Puyo player, but as you can see during the match if they're too slow, it just gives the Puyo player time to stack and trigger a chain combo.

    I dont think it will ever be fair when 2 very different game are being played in versus, idk why thats the case at all, puyo2 players just have to chain few times to get huge lead, while tetris players have to be so fast to get any advantage, the skill curve is way different for both game to be played as vs

    It's ok Mikochi, you may have lost but you have definitely shown us 35P your Elite improvement. I went from 😂 to ”Woaooooow, the baby has improved so much in one week” watching your Tetris streams. I was hoping to see how far Suichans training went with all her students but it was hard especially when puyo puyo was pretty dominant in the tournament. I do hope in their next tournament they have separate pools where players that specialise in puyo puyo battle it out and vise versa with Tetris players so we can see an even contest then having those 2 winners battle against each other to determine who's the winner then have them battle Marine the goddesses at Puyo puyo and Suisyopath the Tetris goddess as a consolation game.

      If you want a bit of a breakdown Tetris is better, Puyo is a bit quicker to learn, so if someone is picking up the game having never played Puyo Puyo or Tetris before, they'll be better off in the short term learning Puyo, which is why there's the trend in these beginner level matches.
      The big advantage Tetris has is infinite speed- Puyo doesn't allow hard drops(Pressing a button on your controller to move your current piece to the bottom instantly) while Tetris does, allowing them to build up and send damage(The white lines to Tetris and the Grey blocks to Puyo) much quicker.
      There's also an argument to be made for damage being more meaningful against Puyo. Damage in Tetris goes from the bottom up, which reduces the time a player has to think about their actions(Almost pointless, as the Tetris player should be playing fast enough that this doesn't matter until the very last few lines). Damage for Puyo comes from the top down. There are some situations where you can use this to extend combos, but for the most part it will hinder you- you need specific squares open to start your Puyo combos, and if a garbage block lands there it's a pain to clear.
      tldr;Tetris has the advantage.

      Sorry i never said she cried literal tears, i mean she really felt the lost and was a bit teary, she even snapping herself to be happy. That's a normal feeling after an intense pressure in tournaments. It's a normal human nature, there's nothing bad about it. The channel still delayed the VoD and there's nothing negative about it.
