Man, people that are just discovering mistlands now are truly living in a golden era. So many nuggets of wisdom scattered throughout this video. This is your best video to date. Phenomenal work, sir.
After you have made some eitr, toss several individual pieces of eitr next to the ward. It will eventually break. Not especially fast, but less effort than the cart.
An excellent video essay. Very well done and researched. The wry humor peeking out of the content periodically made this easy and fun to watch. You hit all the pertinent points. Thanks for posting this.
For the sky jellies, I told my brothers when I first brought them in the into the mistlands to "shoot the caviar" and while they laughed, they knew instantly what I meant. I should have prepared them before the fight but that sentence worked out for us in the end anyway
Amazing work!!! This is a type of guide that should be considered as a template for the " Right stuff" ! I've seen a good number of your videos lately and it IS getting better and better! Thanks for this guide and keep Valheiming! Or Waffleing!?
They need to update that wisp, so its vision area is more static around the player, and slightly bigger.. It hovers randomly way too much, so you'll be walking forward and it'll be flying around at random behind you, lighting up behind you instead of where you're actually heading.
Nice! My variation is to try to calm my pounding heart, manage my stamina and climb a tall rock or hill near them and shoot their butt w arrows from safety. It helps build my bow skill lol.
Polearm secondary attack is good for getting rid of stubborn ticks! And wisp torchs are cheap and easy for clearing out fog and leaving a breadcrumb trail to follow to your sap extractor or favorite dvergr friends. Great vid!
Nicely done sir, and well worth the wait. I know roughly how long this took you, but do you think you might do something like this for each biome eventually, a Valheim survival guide series of some sort...?
Good video. For those which are more adventurous, or want to skip ahead, once you have a couple iron bars for a stoneccutter, you can sail out (take a forge, too) and find low/no-mist locations where you can take down the viaducts, yielding large amounts of iron bars, black marble, and copper scrap. Plow this iron into maxing out an iron sledge, and then locate one or more coastal infested mines. The secret rooms with black cores are often near the entrances, so you may only have to iron-sledge-cheese your way through a few fights if you're lucky. Without Moder dead yet (artisan table), you cannot refine eitr yet, but you CAN make two very important pieces of gear- Krom and an Arbalest. These will make your journey through the rest of Swamp, Mountain, and Plains much, much easier, allowing you to skip multiple weapon tiers. Keep mind the cart trick, as you'll need 10 yggdrasil wood, either from kiting seeker soldiers into trees/logs, or taking down dvergr docks/tower doors. And yes, I know you can dig out under viaducts and skip bringing a forge, but this isn't always possible with coastal viaducts. Bring a forge, just in case!.
I had to look up what a "viaduct" is, but this sounds like a great technique! Not being able to see well sounds less than fun but people to venture into the Mistlands early. A few did it on my server and I joined them for one adventure. Krom and Arby early is fantastic!
@@WafflesGamesProbably There are often large areas of Mistlands with no mist. When you look at Mistlands on the seed viewer, the darkest areas of the map have no mist.
What a thorough guide! Almost makes me want to adventure in the mistlands again! Note: Ticks doing piercing damage means the root harnesk is also a huge help. It trivializes most of them, much like it did mosquitos in the plains
Extra note about ooze bombs: in my opinion they are the best way to hunt hares in the mistlands when you enter the mistlands for the first time. I find that most melee weapons either swing too slow or whiff frustratingly often against hares, even if you try to give chase, and that bows just have too slow of a draw time to be practical while a hare is running (unless you have high bow skill). 25:53 Correction: only 2-star seekers are limited to night, you can encounter 1-star seekers during the day. You are correct with the increased mob cap at night though.
Heeeyy that's a great idea! Never thought about using them for hare hunting! And yes, I believe that is true. Im sure I've seen one stars in the daylight but I was reading a general quote from the wiki there, if I remember right.
@WafflesGamesProbably you should try it sometime, first time i realized the potential of ooze bombs i went on a power trip not unlike experiencing full fenris for the first time :)
Beware when fighting Gjall at or near the sea. I had the Gjall event, and lowered my guard when all of them were dead, but then swarms of Ticks came up from the ocean. They had been dropped there and aggroed when I came close. Died multiple times trying to get my gear back...
Gotta disagree on the armor. Root chest with the 15% Pierce resistance is king by a wide margin. Weakness is negated by fire pots but the flat damage reduction on top means seekers and ticks are pretty safe. Even against starred ticks. But IME this mix and match will serve most people better that just padded. With the caveat that you need barley wine for the Gjall or you'll cook like a marshmallow.
Yeah I did allude to that! It may be the best option but I left it mostly open to allow people to make their own choices. I usually just roll full heavy armor. But options are good!
Hahaha Only because CHAOS! I like to have fun on my streams. And that means challenging myself and putting myself into dangerous situations. But hey every death comes with a lesson 😆
Thank you for your reply on the other video! I completely oversaw this vid on your channel. But I finally progressed a little so I can watch it. 🎉 Funny enough gjalls feel like my least problem, the other mobs seem to be more challenging/ annoying. I first went in with padded + 2 health foods but quickly noticed that the stamina is not enough for my playstyle (running around in panic can deplete stamina fast!). 😂 So I recently switched to 2 Stamina foods. I also tried to use fenris, but mixing root harnesk, padded helmet and fenris legs seem to be the best for me, as it has a little defense but also not too much -% movement. AWESOME tip with the ooze bombs! An item I never even crafted or considered using before. Now I'm running out of ooze! Are they underrated or am I just ignorant? The cart-hack is amazing! First dvergr structure I found was already overrun and I could just get the extractor, for the 2nd i tried to keep luring mobs (do not recommend, takes forever)... This is so helpful! Overall great videos and tips! 🤩 Now I wonder what melee weapon to get first with my still very limited resources.. any suggestions?
Thank you!! Melee weapons...it all depends on what you like and have been using. If you're a swords person, the Mistwalker is a great choice. Adds frost damage to the mix, which is awesome. Thr Himminafl for sure is a great addition to the team. There's sadly no new one handed club, but the demolisher is a good help to clearing crowds and for infested mines.
Absolutely it is a much better choice but I chose to focus primarily on plains-tier, as if someone was venturing into the mistlands without having unlocked mistlands tier gear yet.
You can jump on seeker solder and u will not take a damage from bite nand head attack when he use his legs jump to his but and cause he have long animation u can give hole 3 combo and also when simple seeker not solder come to just jump behind him and give full 3 combo. You can just use secondary attack on black atgeir and stan instantly seeker and 1 seeker (if u have high skill also a 2 star seeker) or flesh rippers secondary also give a stan for 0 star seeker and if u have high skill 1 star can be also stunned (advise secondary the 2 hits and again secondary repeat till win). And Hellow from Kazakhstan this is country
Use a Buckler with the knife. way better results! less knockback on parry so you can close that short blade distance faster. speed, parries and opportunities are the key. you don't need stealth at all but doing 1k+ damage on a sneak attack is always the tits haha
They should remove skill reduction on death, as default. Loosing skills when battling made me and my friends quit the game because its so tiresome to keep leveling up all the 15 skills infinetly
@@WafflesGamesProbably but still, we have 15 skill sets and 1% when ur maxed is minus 15 levels each death. The skill penalty should be completely removed and set default imo

Haha yeah absolutely! I agree with that. It ain't perfect.
mistwalker can cover static but less area around u
My only success against seeker soldiers is to run like hell, lure them into another biome and hope they get distracted by other prey.
haha that works
Hahaha that is also a fantastic and fun tactic!
Nice! My variation is to try to calm my pounding heart, manage my stamina and climb a tall rock or hill near them and shoot their butt w arrows from safety. It helps build my bow skill lol.
or go to infested mine that you already looted and hope that the seeker soldier forgot about ur squishy body
