Great video as always, I spent some time thinking about the main fight and I think it’s more difficult to predict than I originally thought. I think the strategy Dricus chooses to use will play a very significant role. There are certain things he has to avoid doing at all costs because they will most likely lead to a loss. From a stylistic view the way he throws extended combinations would leave him particularly open for counters. That being said, he does have a couple things going for him that could alter the outcome. Specifically how hard he advances, his wrestling, and the style of striking he generally uses (ignoring the combinations). Counter strikers tend to do worse against unorthodox striking and, and I think the “sloppy” style employed by dricus will be incredibly hard to read and predict. I believe dricus will land on Izzy and he certainly has knockout power. I still think from a betting perspective that Izzy is probably the safer pick, however predicting the outcome is much closer to a coin flip than most people seem to think
Excellent analysis! I agree, it's a difficult fight to call, which is way this is such an epic main event. DDP's blitzing can be problematic for him because Izzy is such a great counter-striker. With that said, DDP's aggression can work in his advantage if he's able to get inside without getting caught. It really can go either way, but I am picking Izzy by third round TKO.
