My 99, 2.8 has been my daily for the last 2 years. Ive owned a brand new Corvette ,F150 4x4, Lincoln Town Car. Even at 18 years old and at a four-figure price this thing still is more fun, more reliable and than all the others.
I have the same car, same colour, wheels, etc. I've actually always liked Z3's but I used to own a MK1 MX5 1.8i and I was after another one. My friend works in the motor trade and he happened upon a Z3 1.9 16v that I decided to have a punt at. Fell in love with the car from that point on. I kept that car for two years and spent a year searching for a 2.8 or 3.0 and managed to land a 2001 3.0 in great shape. Anyone who want to level criticism against a Z3 want's to come out in a 3.0i and you will be converted. FYI If you hit the traction button once so the light comes on you disable the stability control and ease off the traction. Which is the safest way to drive it enthusiastically on the roads. If you press and hold the button for 5 seconds it turns the system of entirely.
ive owned mine 8 years, steptronic box, fantastic in corners...and its been so reliable, put over 30k miles on and drive it hard when i get chance... excellent motor the 3i engine..
I own a '01 3.0 manual. With just me aboard my best 0-60 so far is 5.65 sec. according to my iPhone app. I have the Shark ECU reflash and a lighter set of Arc 8 wheels wrapped in Pilot SuperSports.
@@NiccoloSeilo i mean the value for the Z3 cuz its pretty old car u know im the original owner and i have few sports car more nd my fav is z3 But today someone told to my car what the fuckin old trash car i was sooo upset cause here in korea poeple only love new brand cars
Recommend that you try it again with hard top fitted, way-way better, so sure footed, pure driving experience, you will definably beat those times - or at least it will feel like it. ps. which country are you guys in?
I have a 99’ C5 FRC corvette and just bought my second Z3. The first one I bought was a 1996 1.8 and tbh, it bored me... But I just bought this 3.0 6 cylinder 2001 5 speed Z3, and man is it fun. Made a deposit on a R32 GTR so now I’m conflicted on what i’m going to get rid of... Corvette or Z3 :O
Less weight makes a huge difference to acceleration, especially with sort of power. A better surface would have been a big help as well. That road wass really shitty. Even this stock 3.0l couldn't put its power down.
I don't know if it's true or not but I have it on good authority that every British baby, upon reaching the age of eight days, has their sense of humor surgically removed. Mandated by the NHS. Kind of a "humor bris", if you will. People with the inability to laugh at themselves more readily conform to the whims and dictates of the upper class. They absorb the abuse of their political bettors without murmur. You call it "tradition"; I call it "conformity" and "obedience". This explains why Brits love standing in line. Like cows lined up at the door of the abattoir. And don't tell me anything about "Westerns". I live in Arizona.
Leon Allan Davis Yep and I live in Kent England where life is - rather than the back end of a dust bowl called Arizona which is clearly full of two bit inbred hicks who think themselves clever to insult others. And the steering wheel is on the correct side as we drive on the left which dates back to defending against others with a sword in your right hand. Never forget - we discovered your country, you speak our language and you've all been working for us British ever since. Now - go and put on a fresh pair of panties. And try to keep up!
Is that stock exhaust and will the z3 be a future classic?
Yes and yes!
Where have you guys been. . . straight 6 Zeds are superb

Poprin do you drive with the traction on or off most of the time? I would assume that it would be used for rainy or winter weather.

I’ve been driving a 1.9 z3 daily for 6 years now. Has its fair share of issues but it is never left me stranded.

I suppose you could get a better time with some weight loss like an extra passenger lol at 2900 lbs a 175lb passenger makes a difference

People love Miata MX-5 because they're cheap, BMW Z3 is not always the cheapest. Clearly miata isn't always the Answer !
