In this mario challenge, I Beat Mario 64 as a Goomba.
Goomba can't jump or grab things, so I had to do several tricks for this to be possible.

Isn't this technically just the "a-button challenge" but with a Goomba skin?
Goomba still can’t grab king bob omb and several other things even with a dive so its different from the a button challenge. Especially since we jumped using the glitch anyway lol :)

Same! I remember they couldn't get a single star, I think? What I think is the Goomba mod should be reworked on and allow the player to jump for a limited amount of jumps and then wait for the meter to be fully used again. I think this idea would make it interesting and fair.
goombas can jump in other games so you need to make goomba jump

I know I'm a year late, but any reason why you can't beat SM64DS?
I would like to point out two things I noticed
On 0:47 I’m pretty sure you’re able to grab king bob-omb with a dive
On 4:13 you could grab mips with a dive
Bob omb was immune to dives too I should have shown that! Also mips can be grabbed with a dive but needs to be grabbed again through the door and goomba can’t grab

However, due to an exploit, it is possible to perform a jump as Goomba by pressing A on the first frame after unpausing the game.

The dive wouldn’t work with king bob omb and goomba doesn’t have the grab ability Mario has :)

Ok this was cool and fun but how is it ok to use a glitch to jump when goombas can't jump? Idk the whole video seems bogus because of this. Also why could you grab Bowser but not king bomb bomb?
Hey ir0nh3adrat! So for the first part as to why I used the glitch jump, I used it because the idea behind the video was if I could beat mario 64 as a goomba. You could totally dismiss the validity of the results of the challenge, but I would still count it as a pretty good challenge since the actual jump was pretty inconsistent anyway. For the second part about king bob-omb, I could have definitely shown it better in the video, but there was no way goomba can grab him at all. I could dive into him, and it still wouldn't work, even with mario. I was only able to grab bowser with a dive otherwise goomba just kicks. I hope this clears it up for you. Glad you enjoyed the video! :)
