It's not unusual for abuse victims to block out memories of the abuse. That's how they cope and survive.
I find it hard to believe that this monster has no history of child abuse. This isn’t something you suddenly start doing at his age. I just can’t fathom how someone could beat such a precious angel to death. They are both truly monsters.

Plus she was 6. A 6 year old is fully potty trained. Fully potty trained children usually soil themselves when experiencing abuse. I believe there is more to the story. I pray she rest in peace

This is horrible! The reporter Nate Rogers could barely hold back the emotions on this tragic story. I can’t even imagine the heart ache and devastation this mother is feeling. Please pray for her- she needs healing. It’s going to be a long emotional road for her. The level of her loss is immeasurable. And God bless Mr. Rogers. That was a tough assignment, and he handled it with grace.

She initially came to the ER at St. Franciscan where I work, we were praying they would be able to sustain her life, but before she was airlifted we got the news she probably would not make it. Praying for her Soul, may she RIP🙏🏽

As a child, my mother beat me with the belt almost every other day. When I was 13, she gave me a black eye. My father was nowhere in the picture. Although now at 26, I have a civil relationship between them both, I made a promise to myself and to God that I will never ever leave my child/children alone with my mother or my father. It’s not happening. Rest in peace angel, justice will be served🙏❤

I believe the mom kind of was neglect and knew something and was too busy doing her and not checking on her daughter at least through face time. . @tammya I definitely know the feeling. I was physically and emotionally abused and beat on as a kid mainly by my father. My mom was pretty nice to me but I always felt like she turned a blind eye to a lot of pain and drama he caused in the household. I’d have bruises on my arms and legs and would wonder how somebody can claim they love someone and do that to them, especially a defenseless child.
Reconciling and learning to let go of any anger and animosity but never letting your guard down is the best mindset to have.

How would Momma see it when she's several states away doing her best to get a job and some housing far away from the cesspool that Chicago has become? I don't blame her for trying to get a place to live so her baby would not have to grow up in such an awful place. She had no way of knowing that the people who were supposed to be trustworthy would end up being the ones killing her child. Would you like to have to raise a child in Chicago? No? I wouldn't either,and I'm horrified that instead of helping this woman get her child to a safer city, her parents instead beat the child to death.
I’m from Chi, idk bout awful place like where you live. I lived in the suburb next to them.Park Forest was almost Caucasian area. There were other things going on. Mom didn’t need to leave her child, try to move to another state& csnt afford it. Chi has major trans, that can tske you anywhere, even to both airports. Having a child , will help you get housing faster. We just went thru this. My youngest dons daughter has been here 7 mon, out of state. My nieces just saw the mom in Stl, she sent her stepdads supposed to be wife to pick 5 yr old up. She got bathed, clothed , fed 3 hot meals per day, 20 snacks, between 3 houses , pricey pre k , my oldest put her in , bike, toys, outings, gym, this that & other. since mid 2021, we have had her 1 complete yr. She got tired of me saying, she living her best life. She’s been gone 1 month , the mom , won’t even answer her phone, girl had nerve to tell her dad, she not never coming here again . My son gave her big bd party 2022& 2023We had big bd breakfast, took her out to fancy restaurants, dressed her up, with all the fancy dresses,pantries& socks , . I know the crackhead mom , said that .

In most families, this is NORMAL.
GRANDPARENTS, are (usually ), older, wiser, calmer members of the family, that GRANDCHILDREN should be safe with.
Not a babysitter, not a neighbour, not a friend down the road; their OWN flesh and blood; a younger generation of their OWN family.

We know how our parents are. We know how aggressively they disciplined us as children. Unfortunately in certain cultures disciplining your children harshly is considered normal. Some of the punishment some of us experienced as children would be legally classified as abuse. "Beating the $h!t" out of your children, yelling and cursing at them is acceptable in some cultures. A lot of people raise their children in the same abusive ways that their parents raised them. They justify it by saying "I got whuppings as a child and I grew up to be just fine."

I feel like we can’t rush to judgement. Many children are too scared to tell when something happens because they are told they will get their mom killed or etc etc if they tell. So if something was happening maybe the mom really didn’t know.
Also many black parents spank their kids. So it’s possible she knew her daughter had been spanked but didn’t know to what extent ..
lastly … so many of these abuse cases involve potty accidents … if potty accidents was documented on the grandparents calendar .. that could have been the real motive. Of course the potty accidents could also be from SA. I keep trying to understand why she was completely naked if just a potty accident but sometimes my toddlers get their shirts wet with urine and get a whole new outfit. But never beaten naked. That sounds like physical abuse that’s happened before.

Relatives are not automatically good people… and family are not always related. There is a friend who sticks closer than a brother… and it is not either of these folks. They continued beating until she died!!! This poor mother! I am tearing up just thinking on all this!

The dates on the calendar seem to be days that she wet the bed. She probably wet the bed beause (1) she missed her mother and (2) some children may need until age 6 for their bodies to be mature enough to stay dry through the night. The man - and as far as I'm concerned, the woman also because she never called the cops - appears to have given himself permission to beat her for her bedwetting accidents. I don't think he meant to kill her; I think he meant to beat her really hard and cause her a lof of pain. It's not like the baby had her own cell phone to call her for help or tell her mother what was going on. It was the perfect setup: mom is away trying to get a job and home out of Chicago so her baby doesn't have to be subjected to the degeneracy of Chicago, and parents, who are horrible people, have unmonitoried and unlimited access to the baby. They take out their frustrations about bedwetting or whatever else on the child and nobody will interfere. And they were right until the one time they assaulted her TOO hard and she died. They deserve life in prison without the possibility of parole.

I grew up in foster care and learned that was the first sign of sexual assault! A lot of kids pee on themselves because they think that would make the abuser leave them alone!

This beautiful, young baby died at the hands of her grandfather and it should not have happened. Look for the signs in your children and listen to them. This was not the first time he did this .
I was divorced and sent my kids to visit their dad every year. One time my daughter said I don't want to ever see him again. I asked why and she said I don't like how he touches me. She wouldn't tell me any more and I never sent her again. That was in the late 80's and they did almost nothing to protect me or my daughter. She was almost kidnapped in front of our house and the police wouldn't do a thing because they didn't take her. I put the fear of god in them with 2 rotties and the move out that night.

As a grandmother of 7, this astounds me. We are protective over our own children and even moreso over our grandchildren. I never understood how a parent could hurt their child, let alone a grandparent. Grandparents are supposed to have endless supplies of hugs, kisses, and I love you's. They are supposed to spoil their grandchildren.....not hurt them....mentally or physically. I pray there is a special corner in hell for those two and that they face an eternity of torture.

I hope the grandfather wasn't SAing her and using the alleged soiling of her underpants as a way to get her undressed. It's odd to me that she was completely naked. Although it might've just been that messy. But for the mom to say that she's never known him to hit seems odd. The mom was either disciplined like this when she was a child herself and has repressed it or something else was going on with the granddaughter. Either way it's totally sick.

The fact that the medical examiner stated the child has been suffering from on going abuse definitely makes me question the mother how don’t you see bruises on your child. She was trying to make a life in another city and left her child with her parents. Unless she knew what was going on you are completely out of line. Take your anger out on the actual murderers. No good parent would ever want to be in her position. One of the defining characteristics of narcissism is a lack of empathy. they come with loads of misguided JUDGMENTs about everyone and everything.

This really hit me when I seen the little princess say these my eyes and to know her grandparents could do this it hit me so hard and I’m at work and just balled up in tears cause she is so innocent and you would think she would be safe with her grandparents I lost two sons in 2007 and 2016 in tragedies and every time I hear or see a kid die or killed rips my heart apart I’m praying for her mom and this little angel

It’s shame that you can’t even trust your own parents to keep your child safe from harm! The hate he must of had for his daughter trickled down to his granddaughter! It appears that Jada wet the bed. There are some very stupid adults out there who still believe that children should be beaten for bedwetting accidents, because it's what was done when they were kids. Their minds are closed to learning anything different, and they are way too prideful to entertain the notion that some of the beliefs they have about child-raising are just plain wrong. So I'm not suprised this happened, although I'm disgusted and horrified that it happened. There are people I know personally who believe in beating children and I could see them doing the exact same thing. The man and woman probably meant to hurt - and I mean REALLY cause pain - to the baby. They didn't mean to killl her, but they wanted her to suffer, because she wet the bed. They got what they wanted and then some. I hope they get life without possibility of parole.

If she had a “pattern” of marks from previous abuse, how could the mother not have detected something was not right? The child probably did not say anything because she was threatened. Poor sweet baby girl 💔

Gosh did you not watch the story the mom left to pursue a better job & housing in another state & left her daughter with the grandparents. She wasn’t even in the same state so how would she know what was taking place in the home. No parent ever expects their child to be murdered by their grandparents!
@@chellelechelle The problem is that both of this Ladys apparently fail to see that "patterns of abuse" can mean scares that are not only from the day of the murder but for example 2 or 3 weeks old. Leaving a child forsome weeks with the grand parents is not a sign that one is a bad mother. It's always frightening on how liddle evidence people are willing to judge others evil. If you wondered what started the typical witch hunt look no further.

I just saw an interview saying the grandparents had custody of her since April and mom lived out of state. Makes sense that she never saw abuse it sounds like she wasn’t around much. 😢

With some bad luck this is some form of dementia that can make you aggressive (Morbus Pick) but leaves memory relatively untouched in the beginning. But when a child get killed I actually wonder if people can get possesed by demons.

The mom had a housing problem and looked for a job. She thought that the girl would be better of with the parents. A lot of people say: oh let the kids be taken away when someone goes homeless. All this proofs that there are worse things for a kid than having no stable roof.

Just horrible. Why was she naked when the squad got there? What was the reason for that? That little girl had to have shown some sort of sign before.
She probably had wet the bed and instead of just changing the bedsheets and giving her a bath, the evil man stripped her naked and beat her. The evil grandma stood by and did nothing because she probably also was mad about the wet bed and didn't realize until it was too late that they'd injured the baby badly enough that they were going to get caught. There are a lot of black people who think it's okay to strip children naked and beat them with a belt or switch. It's left over from the way slaveholders treated slaves. The problem is that too many black people are too stubborn to learn a better way to interact with children; they want to do to others what was done to them. To learn something different requires more effort than they are willing to make They were taught that children should be hit if they wet the bed, and they are too close minded and too lazy to be willing to learn that some children need longer than others to grow out of bedwetting at night. I thank God I never had to leave my child overnight with anybody until the child was old enough to be toilet trained. And I would not leave my child with the majority of people to whom I'm related because too many of them have that sick mentality. While they would not intentionally kill a child, they take pride in how hard they can beat them.
