Thank you Valter, for your presence and dedication. Thank you for preserving historical accuracy and making sure upcoming generations understand the past. The unimaginable magnitude of such atrocities seems to escape the grasp of a sane, stable, safe mind. It's hard to fathom. But it happened. And we must remember.
Greetings from South Africa. The speaker refers to the Poles who were deported. Both my parents and their families are a few of the 1.7million Polish citizens that Russia deported into the gulags of Siberia. All the deportees be they from Latvia, Estonia, Lithunania, Poland, Ukraine, including the Crimean Tartars who were deported in 1945 are first hand witnesses to and victims of Russian terrorism and repression.
There is much pain in the hearts of the Baltic people that they, and those who did not survive the genocide of the Soviets, could not enjoy the happiness and joy of being independent nations, taken away by dark years of occupation.Hearts cry, minds weep of non-comprehension,the inhumanity of a neighbour, neighbour who, with his envy and greed, stole our gardens and humanity. We will survive,we will tell the world, and continue to tell,of what they did to us,whilst they lied to the world. We will survive.
