This is the type of high resolution tetris content that the community needs more of in my opinion. This is the type of no-nonsense, insightful information from a top player's perspective . Great work and good editing from smolfeesh.
Me who plays Jstris and plans on playing puyo and Tetris 99 in the future need not worry about btb combos. And I just can’t learn setups by reading anyways, I can only do so by experimentation, slow but still viable due to the fact that I care not for advancing rank anyways.
@@1mol831 nice to see your love of tetris isn't about competition but more for love of the game. I might also recommend CultrisII it is a very satisfying version of tetris that is free and follows a random piece setup rather than a 7 bag. If you haven't seen the player Yakine you are in for a treat. Yakine is a true tspin master and just by watching gameplay at 25% will expose you to all the wonderful tspin setups you would ever want to learn. I put it on before bed to help me fall asleep 😅.
This is an incredible resource, I've heard and researched almost everything you said but to have it all perfectly explained in such a quick way is incredibly good at making it stick in my mind. I will probably will be watching this many many more times in the near future
great video! As the video says, there aren't too many guides on which skills is needed improve on the game, this video sumarizes it, and since the tetrio playerbase is competitive af, its helpful for a lot of people (including me lol) anyway, continue with the high quality videos and thanks for the tips.
Thank you so much for this video! This has really opened up my eyes to how bad I am at the core game. Now I know what I should be focusing on and can start seriously improving.
Wow, awesome vid. Helps to remember that at the end of the day: this is the stuff that matters. You can learn all the advanced tech you want but it’s all in service of the fundamentals.
I have a lazy eye that has been with me since birth and it lets me drift my right eye to the right so ive been using this as a built in screenwatch maneuver
Amazing video, made me realise that I was wasting my I pieces and greeding for tspins at the top of my board while not clearing tetrises... Helped me get a 4 win streak hehe
The older lad who lived next door growing up had finished the arcade version of Tetris. He said near the end it started sending down more than one piece at the time.
Thank you circu for making this video, i was the worst tetris player in my class when i was primary school, but because of this video i am now the best player in my class
Thanks for the video, I was looking for some more high level insight in other places, but it's a very vague "git gud" advice. I'll work in what you explained in the video.
dude ive been playing for so long, and after watching this video and being considerate of the tips my apm on TE:C went from 35 to 50 holy fucking shit tysm
We should play against each other. My apm did go from 25 to 47 but I usually would win against 70 or less apm players, I do however usually lose against 80+ apm people. the reason my apm is low is because of me dying from openers from the really fast players and I struggle to do much against really fast players. My apm would usually be 55 against someone slower than I am and 60 up until the opponent apm exceeds 75, then it decreases with to around 40 for people above 80 apm.
circu i come here to worship you and your greatness. Please o’ circu, grant me the power to stay U rank in tetrio. Wash away my tetrio sins, as It is true that i have used DT more than necessary. It is thanks to you that I have not strayed away from my tetrio path, I will forever worship you and disprove all the non-believers. 🛐
Keeping the practice going! Thanks for sharing a Pandora box of knowledge with us! P.S Also, honoured to be knocked out in front of the RUclips audience!
Unlike many other guides out there that meander or are recorded "live" with little plan, this guide is so full of content with no filler, yet doesn't feel overwhelming. It's insane and 8 minutes flies by. Will definitely recommend to new competitive players looking to take it to the next level. I have two bits of feedback: 1) You mention macros early on and say you will mention them later, but never do (at least not by name--I personally don't know what these are.) 2) You spend some time on efficiency, but make no mention of finesse.
I'm a bit of a casual Tetris player, so event this small guide seems already too far for me to handle. I think I just need to remember the names for the t spin setups and it'll make more sense to me from there. I'll just work on APM and make sure to try stacking flat. Hopefully I come back with way more understanding and this makes sense one day!
Am a very chill player and that gave me a good efficiency. I can hold APM over 80 at 1.5 to 1.7 pps, which feels nice, but I just can't accelerate. I maximum go 1.9pps, and if I get 2pps it's because I won the round with an opener like gamu PC. I'd like to go to 2.5pps but whenever I try then I watch the replay and it reads 1.8pps or something, lmao. I can't find my way to +2 pps.
you need to think further ahead to have better speed.try to always think about 3~4pieces at once and place them without changing your decision in the middle, and still maintaining efficiency. this requires you to use more of your foresight tho and is not that easy.
also you need to have something that you are exactly thinking, like what pattern you can use at the moment, where should I mainly stack first, etc,in order to reduce thinking time and still having decent efficacy.
I see.. Then I think I know what to try to do that. This is what I love about tetris honestly, the training part. Feels nice. Sure, I like seeing the results, but the process of training is just... *chef's hand kiss*.
@@Excadrilltetris one thing that made me speed up was playing with less previews, which helped me with planning ahead because i wasnt overwhelmed by the amount of options. once that got easy i just added one more piece and repeated the process until i got comfortable playing with full preview. it's kind of a weird practice though and i've never seen anyone do it yet but maybe it could be what you need
Is there any webpage or program where I can solve t-spin problems? As a S- player I really want to improve in my t-spins readings and performing, need more ways to build it. Can somebody? Pls?
very good tips! I do feel the high b2b counter replays are either cherrypicked or you are too pro. I rarely get above 10 b2b, and it's only when fairly safe / no cheesy garbage. I wonder when to trade off breaking b2b chain to downstack vs. continuing b2b.
@00F you play at your limit speed and misdrop a lot, dont care if you win or lose in the process, then your max speed will be increased and when you need to win play at your comfortable speed again ,it will be faster than before
