I’ve been working away on refurbish the rat room for the past few months and thought I would share an updated video tour and show you guys round. #rats #isamurats #isamuratcare #ratsetup
Hi, I just checked out your website and some of your videos, and I'm absolutely amazed at how helpful and informative everything you do is! It's really surprising that not many people know of your channel.
I've now seen all your videos. (Some of them more then once coz I got a terrible memory 😅🙈) I really want to thank you for the work you've put into sharing your incredible knowledge! I've had rats for just over 3 years now and thanks to you my learning curve has been steep. My rats would be very grateful if they knew..! I hope you and your rats are well! ❤ Hope you are up for making some more videos sometime in the future. Wish you all the best!
I love seeing how people set up their spaces so this was very interesting. Especially since I’ve seen previous versions of how you’ve set things up. :) Great job!
I remember this well. It is a real pain, what can help in the short term is to get some Lino to go under the cage and a decent way either side, it protects the carpet a bit and makes it easier to clean up
Wow. I watched your video on recommendation. Prior to getting our first 2 boys around December time I thought I had done so so much research. Sadly, I now realise there is so much bad info online. Is anyone available any time to chat some things through. We absolutely lovely our rats and only want the best for them. If anyone could offer any support that would be great 👍
I love it! I half wish I had a rat room as there is not a room in my flat that doesn't have rat stuff in, including the bathroom! But I'd miss seeing my girls throughout the day as they are in my living room.
I thought I would when I first did it but it ends up being a lovely place to retreat for me so I’ll go and just sit and watch them sometimes even without getting them out because it’s a calm space away from the rest of life. It’s also better for there girth lol, they got a lot of treats when they were in the lounge
If you read comments, how do you suggest I I add to my male group when the 2 rats I have have growth issues and are as big as smallerfemale rats? What option to you think is safest?
Love it! In the midst of changing over our Rodentry ourselves and switching to Bioactive for our rats and possibly our mice, one step at a time. What size is your rat birthing tubs and where did you get them from?
I use Alaska cages which are 84 x 49 x 44 cm. If your not Europe based then I believe there’s a prevue cage which is very similar. Nice deep base, good access door. I just put them under an ikea stuva table (perfect fit) so the does feel secure or failing cover all but the front with loose fitting card
Yep there’s a video in the habitat playlist on how to measure up for them, alternatively there’s a lot of info in the naturalistic and bioactive rat set ups Facebook group
Could I please contact u about my rat? I need an opinion asap on what to do for him. Not sure if he has an abscess or tumor in his cheek. Brought him to the vet but they said they wouldn't know unless they do surgery which is $600 and I can't afford that. The lump is HUGE now and it has turned purplish green. He just started antibiotics today. Idk what to do. I'm scared it's gonna pop
Is anyone willing to educate me on something about rats? I’m not gonna say what it is unless you want to help because it’s a very sensitive/ TW: death topic
@@IsamuRatCare Ok thank you! Basically I walked into my rats room yesterday morning and said hello to my females, and the when I walked over to my males cage I saw one laying in the back so I moved the blanket and he didnt move. I called my sister over because and she said he was dead which I suspected but then she said his head was torn off. I went back later with my dad so he could remove the rat as I couldn’t, and he was moved and his cage mate was alive, but hiding all day. I don’t know if they got in a fight? Or what else could’ve gone wrong
I am very sorry to hear that. What most likely happened is your lad died suddenly (usually via a heart attack or stroke, very sudden and they don’t suffer), then your other lad has a go at “cleaning up” which is where they will start to eat the body of a dead cage mate. Not all rats do it but whilst it might be shocking and horrible to us as humans it makes sense when you think in the wild a dead rat friend would attract predators and disease so as a group they would clean the body up the best way they could. Your other lad is also probably grieving his loss too, they can get quite depressed when they lose a friend

Love the paint. Wish I had a spare room for my girl rats.
I wish we could see something current. Here in 2023😂
The stuvas around the birthing cages look really smart! Really great room
I don’t recall seeing a vid about Ring Worm. Somehow my eldest girl,
2 years 3 months, picked it up from lord knows where 8 months ago.
The rat room looks amazing! Such a lovely set up. I can’t wait to see more of it and all the ratties too 😊
Heyo I just stumbled upon your channel! I hope you and the rats are doing well, thank you so much for your loving educational videos!
I agree, such a great resource. Look forward to new vids.
its so gorgeous Jemma!!!!!! I love it. worth the time away i say :) Hurrah!!!!
Love the paint work, it's so pretty.
Great to see how your rat room is evolving. I wish I had a rat room, my ratties are in a carpeted room and it's a real pain to keep the carpet clean x

That's was really interesting, thankyou!
Got some cool ideas from you.
hey! any idea if rats can eat early magnolia flowers as a one off?
I love you!
What is the soil made of? How often do you change the soil? How often do you Clean out the poop and pee?

My female rat has a Bumb under her neck
what should i do?
Dang how did you make those perspex? Trays!! I really need to make some for my cages

What would do you use for the rats ?

do you have some rats coming for sale
Did the rat room get smaller or is this the same room you've always filmed in? 🤔
It’s the same size but moving the wardrobe into the middle has made it feel smaller
What happened to the channel ):
I had a major brain wibble and life got in the way. I’m hoping to get some more videos done soon though, particularly a few that are badly needed
Is anyone willing to educate me on something about rats? I’m not gonna say what it is unless you want to help because it’s a very sensitive/ TW: death topic
Yep happy to try, I do have a video on euthanisia in the health playlist though that may also help

@@IsamuRatCare Thank you. Yeah the only other time one of my rats has died the cage mates didn’t eat it, so it was a shock to me
