新加坡戏剧进入21世纪以后跟80/90年代的文化内涵剧本水平相比变得平庸无趣而沦为政府宣传政策的传声筒因此失去了主流观众，现在的社交媒体网络时代已经成为主流发展。新加坡戏剧要想求进步追上韩剧以及中国网络剧，首先必须在培养编写剧本情节和人物塑造水平上有所自由发挥空间跟演员演技的改进才能收拢本地观众的收视率。谢韶光的回归只能是第一步，否则本地电视剧除了在蹭小娘惹的热度之外近十年来新传媒戏剧再也没有跟上来也就是在原地踏步，那就是在白白浪费了韶光复出努力的演艺才华!
原地踏步的是观众，不是戏剧。新传媒也有好的电视剧。
