      @AlwaysBenevolence in a cave in Georgia, with America's biggest pits , and death drops everywhere... literally behind any rock... and basically a giant maze .. my guide almost took a wrong path out where I replied" no we went this way I'm sure of it because there is a bat I took a pic of 50ft that direction, and our headlamps are dying " (we were already there a couple hrs). He replied " oh shit, your right" anxiety started... three paths later while climbing an unfamiliar slick 70-80° wall, he says " you know what, we didn't come down this way, give me a minute to figure out where we need to go, it's been like 10yrs since I been down here" 😒 pannick and claustrophobic walls overwhelmed me where I said " you know what, idc if there is gas in this chamber I'm smoking a cigarette and calming down so I don't freak tf out and snap" a half hr later we were on the right path with very little batteries left. I still go to caves when I can, but with Xtra batteries and I take lots of pics and videos otw down 😂😅

  • @zfilmmaker
    @zfilmmaker 28 дней назад +16

    I’ve been in that cave years ago, we covered up the entrance for safety reasons. You can keep going down following the water 1000+ feet. The bottom is a pool of hot water you don’t want to end up in. That bottom room is hot and steamy, it’s hard to breathe in. It zaps all your energy for a hard climb out. I would suggest you don’t follow the water all the way.

    • @emmacoombs8681
      @emmacoombs8681 4 дня назад +1

      @@zfilmmaker I really can imagine that. I've never gone caving, simply couldn't for many reasons, but I can see the attraction of this cave, it does pull you in to want to see more, and yes the curiosity of what's left to see and how far can you go. I could imagine the time running away without noticing. Then to be that far down, and almost stuck, just awful. Ruined a good exploration. That was a good idea blocking it up for safety reasons.

    I'm curious to know what you guys think of using rope sleeves for those sections of rope that are constantly rubbing on sharp rock ledges? I have no where near your amount of experience climbing, but I have used them while repelling down cliffs.

    I genuinely believe that this is where a lot of forest 411 cases ended up. Fell through the ground into one of the sinkholes, which get covered over again by leaves and detritus before a search starts. Here in Australia we have the largest artesian water basin on the planet. There are some famous sinkholes, that have claimed cave divers forever. One of the most famous was only found because a farmer's livestock were disappearing (or a cow got its leg stuck in a hole that it's weight punched through... possibly?). There would be massive mouths opening and closing every wet season and big flood. Itd be amazing to have one on your property. Id build a house or shed on it and it would become the ultimate bugout/nuke shelter and an incredible stash spot. You could grow mushrooms, generate power with the waterfalls etc etc. You could extend it into the rock and make a stable, dry set of rooms. Perfect for the recluse.
    And there may even be gold in that quartz too!

    You seemed surprised there was no riggin in that cave... do you usually find riggin? I've only seen a handful of your videos so far, but it seems like you usually find random caves in the middle of nowhere. Just how many caves have been officially explored? lol
