Ok i dont know what your working on but my 2008 you cant remove the starter without removing the motor mount bracket and dropping engine.

I have a 2012. Starter just went out . Does that need to be done with this model also or can u remove from over top or under the vehicle?

@@TheCassiusking I wouldnt know. I had to find out the old fasion way. Best advice is getting a couple opinions before you start. A good floor jack helps make the whole thing easier. Sorry couldnt help more. I just dont know .

Starter just went out on the 2012 kia sorento that I own. Noob here. Is this a easy fix. Does it need to removed under the car or can u go thru the hood compartment and reach the 2 bolts and remove it. There is a rumor that om these type of kias u have to drop the engine from mounts or from the brackets to get starter out

Yours is different than what i'm working on 2012 sorento 4 cyl i discon batt neg unbolted the oil filter housing and with a good quality 14 mm socket got it off don't try it with a cheap socket cause youll just round head on bolt and end off paying way more.

Come on Haynes, you're an official manual company and produce an instuctional video without telling us socket sizes nor torque specs (one of the most important aspects of most any repair). I understand torque specs may be different for differet models, at least mention the importance of looking up the proper tightening specs. Completely amatuerish.

So if you have a 2013 Sorento 2.4L the INTAKE manifold has to come off. I bought a starter based on this video AND the Haynes manual 54077 page 5-5 thinking this was a 2 hour job. That was a mistake.
