great interview. Kenny is a great rep for the sport. articulate, understands the psychology of storytelling, and most importantly he doesn't take him self too seriously. he can have a hard hitting war or a comedy match but never ceases to entertain.

Kenny Omega is the first wrestler since Bryan who makes me truly love wrestling the way I did as a kid. The big thing for me is, watching D-Bry made me think of Bret Hart where I was amazed by his technical talent and couldn't help but root for him as the best underdog wrestler of all time.
Enter Kenny Omega... the first guy who ticked all the boxes for me since back in the 90s when I discovered my all time favorite... Razor Ramon. Kenny Omega is the perfect Sleazy Heel who you love. The ONLY guy you can look at and see HBK level athleticism with the Charisma of Razor, Rock or Rude... amazing

Cary De La Torre Sorry for taking so long to respond, didn't notice my notifications. Regardless, No his contract ends in January just like it did this year. He's been open about this, he won't sign a multi year contract. He's a free agent after WK again.

I hope he signs a 2 year deal with WWE and they make him out to be the face of the company and then at the peak of his fame in the company he leaves and goes back to NJPW
Carey De La Torre - I really like Kenny but him being the face of the wwe will never happen just for the fact that Roman and Cena will always be the face of the company, vince will never make you the face of the company if your're an outsider and not hand picked. Hope he stays in njpw for aslong as he can.
Danny Boy Kenny said if he goes to WWE he doesn't want to be a cog in the machine, he wants to be the biggest star there so if he ever does show up in WWE we can safely assume he's been made some promises. And Roman is liked by the casuals but booed a lot mostly by the hardcore fans. Kenny will obviously get cheered by the hardcore fans and he has a look that is pleasing to casuals, add to that the fact that he's well spoken, clean (no tattoos which is a big deal for some reason and super weird considering Roman), doesn't drink or do drugs, and speaks Japanese, a market WWE have been trying to enter (why they brought in Nakamura) I think he could be the new face of the company, but if Kenny stays in NJPW I'd have no problem with it - hopefully NJPW pays him what he's worth though
yeah, i hate that some people see a guy outside and immediately go "HE NEEDS TO BE IN WWE" WWE isn't what makes you big. besides, majority of the guys that came from outside have not been booked as well as in let's say, NJPW or ROH. especially once they make the main roster. Kenny better be doing the exact same thing if he ever goes to WWE. must not job to some samoan with privileges.

I totally agree with everyone that Kenny shouldn't pander to scripted wwe stuff. but for the love of u know who, how hard would everyone cream if WWE's top stars were in the ring having a dispute and the lights went out and when they came back on bullet club was just beating the shit out of all of them? would that not be too sweeeeeeeeeet?!?!?!?!

Brand new story? Omega vs Okada is H.B.K vs Taker from WM25 with the highspots being turned up a couple of notches and 20 minutes added on to the match. Mad respect to their cardio though.
The one difference between the two matches is Omega never did hit his one winged angel, Which should make their June 11th rematch very interesting.
THE WRESTLER'S WRESTLER - I absolutely cannot wait for that rematch but I honestly don't think it'll top their WK11 match.
westnile21 it may take a miracle but I think that they will. the fact that Omega never hit the one wing angel in the first match means they have a story to tell in the rematch. when that move is hit that is going to be one hell of a pop it's going to make for a great near fall ;-)

You gotta respect their cardio , they went 15 mins longer than hbk and taker , but these guys are young . Omega is 33 and okada is just 29.
Where as at the time Shawn Michaels was 44 and undertaker was 46 !

The Joker - The thing about NJPW is that they give their guys alotta time in their matches especially if it's for a major title like the IWGP Heavyweight Championship they get about an hour. WWE on the other hand the only time they give guys that much time is if it's an Ironman Match. They rarely ever give their guys that much time even at Mania. Most of their time goes to advertisements and plugging in products etc. But I do agree you can't knock on HBK and Taker for going that long and putting on a classic. But Okada and Omega are two absolute beasts for going the distance.
