“we knew a lot of people would think we disbanded when we left jype, but that wasn’t our thought, however since we never said anything our fans would never know . we took out our old songs and tried to make them work, but the lyrics wouldn’t work (we didn’t want to release songs with lyrics that wouldn’t work because we knew we had an important overall message for our fans). we decided to come out with encore and thought about starting to record, but everything was so complicated. since we didn’t have a company anymore we had to collect our own money, make our own schedules, and we worked very hard, pushing day and night for the album. compared to the album before, the new album is low quality. however it’s not the end, and we are going to continue together. our only way of expressing what we wanted was the one way, an album [encore]. we will be doing our solo activities, and the day will arrive when we come back together as GOT7.

“i do not have a rival. we are all very close. though we did fight sometimes, we know now that we were all young and had different perspectives and cultures (from foreign members). we kept in mind our differences and became more careful with one another.”

“there are a ton. in the beginning of our debut, jinyoung hyung and i would fight in front of the bathroom in music bank. we would hold onto each other’s neck (a certain way in korea). we also fought about chicken wings, like stuff that doesn’t even make sense to us now. jaebeom hyung bought chicken and put it on a table , but jackson bought the same chicken but it disappeared, so jackson thought jaebeom ate it. but a year later it was bambam. bambam said he was too scared he was going to get in trouble so he didn’t speak up about it. there were a lot of these kinds of episodes.

“i am going to work hard to make new music and work to communicate through my music, that’s the kind of singer i want to be. kind of like healing or sympathy music to people and their thoughts. i want to give hope and send it to my fans.
