That's odd. In the Star Ocean games it's always been a girl when I fought her/him. It has the same sprites but the voice is female in Star Ocean. O_o I think it may be some kinda translation confusion though. Gabriel and Gabrielle would be spelled the same way in Japanese so they may have gotten those mixed up in the english release later. Otherwise I just find that down right weird. xD
Text limitations? They might not have been able to put in the L, or they just omitted it for other reasons. And if I recall correctly neither Gabriel or Iselia queen have voices in that game.

no, Gabriel was still a guy, but they didn't really change the figure from SO2. i just wondered why he didn't use Brams or Lezard, they actually hit harder then Armgrim and Mystina. either way, my fights always differ. Still good fight and such.
Err.. why are people keep on confusing about Gabriele Celeste's sex. Its really clear that Gabriel is male and Iseria is the female.. why would SHE be called the Iseria QUEEN if she's a male? it makes sense, no queen is a man, unless she's gay.
You can't really say that someone should know that from playing SO3 seeing how that part is entirely optional. I've played and own all Star Ocean games except the latest 4th installation. In my opinion, the special dungeon in SO3 sucked compared to the other ones. There's no reason to argue about this seeing how nothing will ever come out of it.
Then why does he look exactly like a girl even in the artwork AND have breasts AND the voice of a girl? That doesn't make any sense at all. And she is also called Gabrie Celesta in SO2 last time I played. So it's not even Gabriel. >_>

Levantine in base story mode allows it, but quite a few swords in the final dungeon have it.

I have played Star Ocean 3. But it's by far the worst of all the games. And the extra dungeons bored the hell out of me. >_>
