Fighting Childhood Hunger in Summer with North Kansas City YMCA

When Cornel Tang, teen tech coordinator at North Kansas City YMCA, started keeping a stash of snacks in his office to help tie kids over until lunch or dinner, he was shocked to find out that they would be gone in a matter of hours. So, to address the widespread issue of hunger he was seeing in children of all ages, he linked up with Harvesters to start offering summer meals and provide additional resources to families experiencing food insecurity.
