I am a beginner to woodwork, the main test I have with this bundle ruclips.net/user/postUgkxTNB_zFBSnTo_O1PqfVUwgi7ityw0JlKt is that I think that its hard to settle on a choice of the plan and outline to use as there are a large portion of them there. Nonetheless, I like the simple stride to step directions laid out there.

Guy grabs 4 chunks of tree, a bunch of planks goes nutso with machines and BOOM! A Pirates treasure chest. Nothing pretentious about the build and it looks great. Love it!

As a woodworker I usually love watching youtube videos to give myself a little inspiration. Every once in a while I come across a travesty like this. Guy doesn't check for square, builds legs that don't even sit flat, glues warped boards together, doesn't spread the glue over the whole joint making it weak. I made it to 6 minutes and had to shut it off.
The end result my look nice, but the craftmanship is just poor no matter how you look at it.

I'm a jack of all and master of none BUT...
    -Disc grinder no no.
    -Impact driver no no.
-Cut a template for the curves and reuse that same template to make the others (sand them together too)
-Apply glue to both surface areas
-Weak brads/no back fill on their holes.
-The base is not sitting flush
    -Little overkill on the screws
-Wrong screws for the hinges, and why in God's name would you predrill everything you did, but not predrill for your hinge screws?

No kidding. I've done some slapdash builds in my time, but for something that you want to actually look decent at the end, the construction used here was pretty bad. Also, did it look like that band saw kerf was way too wide for that blade? Looks like the guide bearings need to be fixed.

A very nice trunk.I was only surprised by the use of such small hinges that must hold the heavy lid of the case.It can't last long I guess? And it is a pity that you did not make real handles, but an ornament in the shape of handles. But overall a nice chest a bit like Russian heavy dowry chests. 👋😁👍

True, also when and if I use screws, I use a Feusner (sp) bit and drill deep enough for adding a wood button, hiding screw heads. Not saying it isn't a beautiful chest. I personally do not like screws showing on my boxes except on metal hinges!!!

Can i give you a tip? Slow down when you build, your ideas where sound, but the execution a bit rough. I used to be like that too, til i learned to slow down and work more precise , now i make furniture for a living from recycled wood. i see you taking measuring marks and than choose to ignore them. Try to use joinery with tennons and mortis or just with bisquits or duvel, it looks scary at first but in the long run it goes faster and you don't need so much screws. i hope you don't take this as a negative, but a way to grow and become better. i had the same way i am a self thought furniture maker but now i can compete with most of them. and yes i still make mistakes too , that is the way we learn. keep it up

Car là, il est forcément assez délicat de porter ce coffre magnifique, bien que manquant de stabilité forcément ! Mis à part ce détail, c'est un travail superbe esthétiquement même si la rigueur sur pas mal de plans est absente !

Interesting project but far to many screws and nails. Screws should have been sunk slightly below surface. Screws and nails could then be hidden with a tiny amount of wood filler mixed with a little sawdust from the cuttings you made. A light sand then varnish and you would have had a much higher quality finished product. My concern would be its most likely to be used in a child's room and those Screw heads may injury a child rather easily. Also when you used wood glue it was used sparingly. You could have used twice the amount you used. As soon as you glued the pieces in place you used the nail gun straight away. Basically you could have done it without glue or done it properly. All in all its a nice little project but I would be refining it using the constructive criticism above. Looking forward to your future videos and have subbed to the channel. One thing I liked alot was the way you made the corner pieces out of a solid "log" instead of creating then using 2 separate pieces of wood. I loved that idea!
