He's still supremely confident of his skills; but life has given him a firmer grounding, having now seen a few elite guys fall and having fought an elite himself: no matter how good you are --- or think you are --- as Khamzat himself now admits, the chin is not made of titanium. Another elite lands on your chin, just once, very hard, are you go down just like every one else!
The other thing: he and his gym have both gotten into hot waters recently. The coaches & owners of the gym ---- who have big bills to pay and dozens under their wings, training in facilities Khamzat and other also train in --- must have come down HARD on them: MMA is a professional sport; and you will behave yourself like professional athletes, or you can take a hike.
This interview is likely as close to the actual Khamzat as you'd ever get out of an extreme fighting sport like MMA, where you really have to be among the most skilled AND most aggressive (mentally, if not always physically) to get to the top. Here, Khamzat showed both his supreme self-confidence and vulnerability, which is, no matter how good someone is, including himself, all it takes is just one hard kick to the head or a hard punch to the chin, by another elite competitor ---- regardless whether it is by "luck" or by "design" --- & that's pretty much it!

Can Chimaev take Alex down and submit him? I think so. However, if Alex hit Chimaev, Chimaev's frame can not handle that kind of power. A sequece of full power hits from Pereira could kill Chimaev.

With the current frame Khamzat would be a trouble for most middleweight , Izzy , rob , Marvin etc but Khamzat he needs to get a bit bigger to take on Alex , he's a bigggg dude , or else it'll be a bit hard for him to take him down n keep him down , and the cardio will give him advantage but then going back to welterweight will be a bit tough for him and then on top of that , against Colby it'll be hard .
