I must tell you that the same thing has happened here during my 79 years. I grieve about how the simple life, friends, community here has been covered over with what they call "progress" but if we just see the news each day, it is obvious that we are not happy people. We don't know each other. We don't talk to each other. We sold our communal life for "Things" we have been told will make us happy, but it is a lie. This young artist has captured that feeling of longing for those simple things that do allow us to be happy: Time to communicate with each other, food & breaking bread together, music expressing honest feelings of joy, love, and sometimes sadness and grief, but we grieved together. The scenes when the old man is with the young boy and the street ball brought me to tears. I love how you are bringing out the local artists and at the same time, you are teaching us about your beautiful land, culture, and people. Thank you so much for doing this...Papa Jim.
